Disembarking the Bliss and Port Valet

Hi,

I had a few questions on the disembarkation process for the Bliss in Seattle. We have early flights back home and don't want to miss our flights (11:50 a.m.)

1. It looks like Self Assist starts at 6:45. Do you have to be in line at 6:45 or can you self disembark anytime between 6:45 and 8:00 (before the first yellow group).

2. For all other color coded groups, do you get something that you need to show the crew when leaving to verify your time slot or is that just an indication of when your bags will be ready after customs.

3. If you do get into the Port Valet program, can you disembark at any time or do you still get assigned a depart time?

4. How worried should we be with an 11:50 a.m. departing flight? If one of our party is looking at the 11:05 a.m. flight is their best option to do the self assist at 7:00 a.m.?

Thanks for the help!

With Port Valet they encourage you to disembark with the earliest group but you can actually go at any time. We had a nice made to order breakfast onboard in The Local before we disembarked.

Pam and I loved the Port Valet and had no issues getting a flat rate taxi to the airport immediately after we disembarked.

If you decide to take an airport bus be aware that they will wait until they are totally full before they leave.

The flat rate taxis don’t cost much more and they leave as soon as you close the door!

1. If you are self assist, they want you to leave before the first color group. But,,, you could actually leave any time. You have to be out of your room by 8:30, so you’ll be lugging your bags through the ship.

2. No. But you will not be allowed off the ship without luggage (or a Port Valet badge) until colors are called. The baggage hall is very small, so wait for your color to be called.

4. Port Valet accepts bags for flights staring at 11:00. You could Valet and leave by 8:30. Allow time to clear customs and transit to airport. We caught the NCL transfer buses. See info on Port Valet here https://boards.cruisecritic.com/showpost.php?p=56216163&postcount=44

We just used Port Valet this morning as we left the Bliss. They request you disembark anytime between 6:45 and 8:00 am. The night before, you are given tags, boarding passes and stickers to wear. Once you leave the ship and go through customs, there is a transportation desk. Beware!! The shuttle bus costs $20 p/p and they push this option. We asked for a taxi but unbeknownst to us, they gave us shuttle stickers. When we got over to the taxi stand we wasted 15 minutes trying to figure out why the taxi drivers wouldn’t accept our stickers. Once we went back, got refunded for the shuttle, paid for the taxi, loaded our party of 3 in the taxi, we had saved $20 (flat rate is $40) and we also arrived at the airport before the shuttle. As a foot note, we used Uber on the ride to the port for embarkation day and it was comparable to the taxi. So...if your party is 3 or 4 people you’ll save both time and money by avoiding the shuttle bus.

And for your final question, we left the ship at 7:15 am and were at the airport by 8 am even with the taxi/shuttle confusion. You should be able to make a 11:50 flight with plenty of time to spare.
