Orchestra after Fantasia

We have just got back from a fantastic week on the Fantasia, and we are now considering a week on the Orchestra out of Venice next May. Does anyone know how the two ships compare, and will it be a let down after the magnificence of the Fantasia?

Hi kev ... We were on Orchestra from Venice to Dubai last year and loved the ship in much the same way as we loved the Poesia, we prefer this ship class, having been on a Divina T.A to Miami we would say that the facilities are much better on this class of ship as are the theatres.

Choose cabin on the same principle as with the larger ship and check deck plans to see what is above and below your chosen room, we had an Inside on Orchestra at the Aft and a forward starboard side Balcony on Poesia. On Divina we had an Aft Balcony on Deck 10.

The Dining rooms on Orchestra and Poesia are less crowded and less claustrophobic, the lounger bars like the Zebra lounge on Poesia are also in our opinion much better.

Thanks Sidari I was just worried that we might have been spoilt by going on the Fantasia first, which was a great ship. Do you have any tips on room selection?

Check the prices carefully

Right now the repo from the Caribbean to Europe on Orchestra has

a balcony Fantastica at £799pp

and a Balcony Aurea at £1099pp

CRUISE ONLY

If you add the Allegrissimo package ,( currently £23pppd, for the 14 days , total cost £322pp), to the Fantastica price then the grand total is £1121pp

So then the prices are (which gives an actual direct comparison)

Aurea £1099

Fantastica + Allegissimo £1121.

With the Aurea you get other benefits eg 1 x Bali massage ( worth £60), my time dining, priority boarding. So you get more for less by going to a higher grade .

The Allegrissimo is , according to many on these boards including myself, excellent value for money, even for light drinkers.

Pete

MSC Orchestra is a beautiful ship. The ship is spotlessly clean and the lounges are very good. The theatre is large and is very pretty. The staff were also very friendly and there is a great bar outside the main restaurant for pre dinner drinks
