How long are CM on board?

We sailed on the Wonder in January 2016 and again in March 2017. We found a favorite CM was still on board on our March cruise. He mentioned he was getting off for several weeks soon after our March cruise and coming back for the Alaska itineraries.

What are the chances he’d still be there in January 2019?

It depends on the position and what the CM may negotiate for before signing a contract. The theatre cast are an exception--they come on and leave as a group. Other that, there is some room for negotiation. For instance, most servers do a 6 month contract and then have 6-8 weeks off. However, our favorite server, having been with DCL for some time and having 2 young kids at home, negotiated for 4 months on and 6 weeks off...and DCL gave it to him. I'm also aware of a Palo server requesting to end a contract earlier than DCL had proposed in order to attend a family wedding--again, DCL allowed a shorter contract.

SO....it depends on who you are, what your position is, and what you request.

Also depends on position availability. Servers are easier since they can be assigned to any set of tables, but some positions like the clubs, the slot on one ship might be filled so they have to go to another. Even with servers that can happen if the ship they were on is sailing with a full staff when their next contract starts.
