This was quite an eventful cruise. We have been on many cruises, all on the largest lines. Mostly, on Carnival and Holland America.

We booked an Oceanview cabin. After sail away our cabin had a very loud noise, It sounded like a grinding noise from the engine and it was constant. It was so loud that there was no way we could stay in that cabin. We had to go to guest services to tell them that there was such a loud noise that we would need a different cabin. I knew that there would be very few if any open cabins. After several hours and the guest services manager getting involved, we got a quiet inside cabin. The guest services manager took our situation seriously and made sure we had a different quiet cabin. We did get onboard credit to make up the difference in price and perks in the dining room.

Then, we had the very unfortunate situation with the man overboard. He did take his life. He was not discovered to be missing until the next morning. They came over the PA in our cabin about 8:15am and was called for many times. Then in the evening Leon, the CD told us the situation. It was so sad.

On a brighter note, Leon, our CD was awesome. He has been a CD for only 3 weeks, taking over for the the CD who left Carnival. Leon has a very bright future. He seems to have an enormous amount of energy, which you need for that job. He is only 28 years old. He had a Q and A and answered all the questions and he was very visible around the ship.

On the last night he put on a show in the atrium with sing, dancing and getting the audience very involved. If anyone has sailed with Mike Pack, Leon's show was very similar to the one Mike put on in the atrium. They both are top notch entertainers. Leon can sing and dance very well, so to watch him and watch the way he interacts with an audience was so much fun. He had us singing along, dancing along and just having an awesome time. He is definitely an asset to Carnival and is making the most of his opportunity and Carnival should be proud of him.

It rained quite a bit and all the excursions for Cozumel were cancelled. For sure, some were disappointed especially the kids. This is just a fact of life when you cruise. There were also some rough seas. If Bonine was not available, I would not be able to cruise. I do have a problem when seas get a bit rough, but for me, Bonine is like a miracle product. When it is rough and take Bonine, I do not have any problems with sea sickness. I tell everyone about Bonine and never sail without and it does not make you drowsy.

One night, at the Havana show it was so rough that the dancers could not dance on stage. To the performers credit, they did the singing part of the show, but not the dancing. It was still enjoyable. The Epic Rock show was very good.

The food was good. The pizza was very good. They still have the regular deli where they make the sandwiches as you order. I read that on some ships they were premade. I hope Carnival continue with the fresh sandwiches as they are really good. Guy's burger was as good as ever and the fries were even better than I remember. However they make those fries...........sooooo good and of course the burgers and all the fixings were delicious!

Overall, this cruise was great! Even though there were obstacles and a very sad situation the entire Carnival team did their best to make sure we had a wonderful cruise.

Finally, the casino was not kind to me, but the casino was very crowded almost the entire cruise. During dry dock they put in new slots that were lots of fun, so if you enjoy the casino, you will enjoy this one.

If anyone has questions, I will do my best to answer them.

Happy Sailing!:cool::D

Thank you for your quick review. I'll be on the Paradise in a couple of months. I'm sorry about your 1st cabin. Did they ever say what that noise was from? I'm glad you got a nice quiet cabin after that. What a terrible thing to happen on your cruise. I'm sure it effected everyone.

Sorry you had some issues, but sounds like you enjoyed the cruise anyway. We did the overnight Cuba cruise a few weeks ago and loved it. We had also sailed on the Paradise in Nov., Jan. and Feb. before dry dock. Loved the new casino arrangement and the new slots. It was also very crowded the whole cruise. Jaime Dee was our CD and her last cruise before she left Carnival and was terrific. Glad to hear than Leon is doing a good job - she introduced him while on the Cuba cruise.

I'm sailing on the Paradise in October. I'm curious about the Pixels gallery. I know this ship has digital photos now, but does that mean when you purchase photos you only get a digital version or do they still print them? If it is only digital, do they give you a thumb drive with the photos you've purchased?
