Nieuw Statendam Itinerary???

According to speculations on the website cruisemapper.com, Nieuw Statendam would deploy to Asia or Australian waters after launch in November.

No idea where these speculations are based upon, but some logic would be that IF Maasdam would leave the fleet in 2018, there would be a gap there. Also late November would not be a favorable time to hang around in the Mediterranean for long.

Any thoughts???

I found this posted by a travel agency on FB. No idea how accurate the information might be.

OVGirl's information sounds true to form. Every new HAL ship for decades ran out of Fort Lauderdale during the winter.

I doubt the Asia/Australian is that hot that HAL would send it's newest dam ship there right away. But maybe they know something I don't. Europe and the Americas sound much more likely

The travel agent is largely correct. I'm now booked on a 4 night sailing to Key West and HMC in late December 2018. Thanks to my PCC, that is. No Asian or Australian itineraries mentioned.

Nieuw Statendam sails from Venice on Dec 1, calls Dubrovnik Dec 2, calls Civitavecchia Dec 5, then proceeds to Funchal Dec 10 and on to Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades). Other Med port calls tbd.
