Talk to me about the Paradise

BF & I are booked on the Paradise in November. Admittedly I didn't do my usual research before booking as it was more what fit his schedule than anything else. I've seen mentions of possible sewage problems? Has she not gone through 2.0 upgrades? I would have thought all the ships had by now.

We have a porthole room on the Main deck. Anyone stay there?

What else?

First off I love the Paradise. I just love the smaller ships. Last year I cruised her 3 times. We did have M1 and M3 which are Porthole rooms. M1 was one I wouldn't book again. It was beside this tiny closet that the stewards used and GOD were they noisy! M3 was fine. Our room stewardess for cabin M1 was horrible but keep in mind staff changes every so often. We have never noticed any sewage issues on an of our trips. sometimes you may get the sewage smell but it's nothing that lingers or sticks around. I love the Paradise I think honestly she's ranked number 1 for me in the small ship category. Our casino host Ned and our wonderful casino waiter Ian both remembered us when we went on the Fantasy last November ..both of them had worked on the Paradise for each of our 3 sailings. I say give her a chance...

We're in M11 so the closet noise shouldn't be a problem. I've only cruised small ships so I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything vs the big ships. And I'll already know the layout.

How was the MDR? The Lido buffet? Was Serenity always packed?

Just of the Paradise last week, MDR was great we had a party of seven and everyone enjoyed their entrees- the only dish that was sent back was the beef lasagne -my husband and my SIL did it care for it. No this ship doesn't not have the 2.0 upgrades yet.

Lido buffet was fine as far as buffet goes. The grill is good, it's outside right before you go inside to Buffett.

Yes, serenity was always packed except at night.

We were on the Paradise last fall . We had a ball . The entertainment crew were awesome . The piano bar is fun . Karaoke was a blast . It is an older ship but it is fun.The MDR was hit or miss . The buffet was pretty good and they have an outside area .

I too, have sailed "Paradise" many times, and have always had a blast aboard. Never any smells that I noticed, Excellent crew, outstanding food in the dining room, and always lots of fun aboard. I almost always book aft cabins, and usually on Emerald deck. Great location IMO.

Thanks everyone!

Just have to wait now. And plan.....what to do in Cozumel & Grand Cayman!

I've sailed Paradise a couple of times. Once, we had pretty rough seas and rainy weather and the entertainment crew didn't disappoint. They had some great indoor activities for everyone.

Nachi Cocum is ALWAYS a good time in Cozumel! I've been 5 times and have only seen children there once (there's not much for children to do really). I noticed you asked about the serenity deck so i'm thinking you're going for quiet and relaxation. I won't say Nachi is always quiet..depends on the drinking crowd, but there is lots of room to roam, palapas over your lounger where your waiter will bring your drinks and food if you wish (or you can eat under the covered area up near the swim up bar (pool and warm tub - not very hot), hammocks, pay as you go activities and def more of an adult time. All you can drink and a 4 course meal (I don't think I've ever finished and I can eat! LOL) for $55.

Grand Cayman....7 mile beach is popular and swimming with the stingrays is a pretty cool experience.

Have a great time!

Michelle~

We sailed Paradise last may and had an amazing time. Yes, she is a smaller and older ship and in no way perfect but don't let that stop you from having a good time. Food was good and the entertainment was great the whole time. Every crew member we encountered was incredibly friendly and we had 0 complaints. We have been looking at booking another cruise on Paradise because we travel to the Tampa area a lot and we were that impressed.

We were just on the Paradise 3 weeks ago and had a great time! I had run a bunch of horrible reviews so I was a little worried. I never smelled a sewage odor one time. The staff was great and the food was great. There were always plenty of chairs for laying out. The only negative thing I could even think to say is 1 of the glass elevators was out of service the entire week. Don't worry you will have a great time.

Paradise will be getting her 2.0 Upgrades during the month long dry-dock in Feb/March 2018.

And I'm betting on balconies too just like the Elation is getting. They both have month long dry docks scheduled and the Elation is for sure getting balconies.

We were on her 3 weeks ago. She is ready for her upgrade but we still had an enjoyable time. I knew the ship wouldn't be the latest and greatest when we booked but I found the fares were reasonable.

We found the crew worked hard, were friendly and things were clean.
