Hamburg arrival on QE?

In May, during a voyage on Queen Elizabeth to the Baltics, our first port of call after departure from Southampton will be Hamburg (07:00 according to the Port Authority) . I am trying to organize a visit from my son who works/lives in Berlin and knows Hamburg about as well as I do (not at all!! :) ) I am wondering what experience others have of arrival into Hamburg - do we have to go through an immigration procedure? Is it unusually slow or fast in disembarking there? Trying to figure out a time when we can tell him to meet him somewhere in Hamburg (front of the City Hall??)

I have been a few times and have never had any issues with immigration etc. You should be able to get off as soon as the ship has cleared customs which is maybe 30 minutes after arrival.

Thanks for the advice. Sounds good.
