Does anybody know whereabouts on Celebrity Silhouette major sporting tournaments are shown live?

The football world cup is taking place during our cruise to St. Petersburg in June and it would be nice to cheer my team on amongst fellow supporters.

Just wondering if anybody can help with which bars / rooms / area's have been used previously?

Thank you.

I would have thought games will be shown, I've been on cruises with Celebrity during the Lions Rugby Tour, premier league football games are shown, the CONCACAF tournament games were on last year when were on our Baltic cruise and the World Junior championships of various age levels were shown.

Major games will be shown in the Passport Bar/Cellar Masters and also in the casino, they had the rugby game on in Celebrity Central, you can always watch in your room too.

We asked for some TVs to have channels changed to show football games in the past in Cellar Masters (they were showing golf at the time), all we did was ask if people minded if we changed over, they were fine about it.

The only potential issue may be weather/location might affect signal coverage.

No worries -- we are just off the Reflection and of the rather limited number of TV channels, three of them were devoted entirely to sports, with soccer featured almost exclusively on one (and only a few hours of Olympic coverage on another).

You won't have a problem buddy. There was a sports bar at the back of the ship that showed most games when we were on Equinox. The only issue may be which game it shows with the clientele being international.

The "fan zone" in St Petersburg will be located right next to one of the most visited sites by tourists, The Church of the Saviour of the Spilled Blood in Konyushenaya Square. Might be an area to avoid! It will be capable of holding 15000 fans!

We did a walk tour of St Petersburg and the one thing we desperately wanted to see was the Church, it was the fan zone for the CONCACAF Cup and we couldn’t get near it.

We were there 3 years ago and that whole area was manic, cars coaches, minibuses parked everywhere not to mention the horses and carts! You could barely move so I imagine with the football it will be 10 times worse if possible! Think we will give it a miss this time!
