Any one done the Scuba Certification?

Hi has any one done the Scuba certification. Would you recommend it? How much extra was it? Do you know the minimum age requirement?

I was on an 11 day cruise aboard the Royal Clipper - already certified- but one fellow was doing his advanced open water cert. He seemed to be happy with the instruction and there's the opportunity of diving every day. It might make the most sense to do all the classwork, bookwork and poolwork at home and use the clipper ship for your open water dives. Also, Star Clippers use steel cylinders and the bar system for air pressure measurement.
