SeaDreamer trying Viking Oceans

I have started a new thread on the Viking Oceans board for reviewing our upcoming cruise on the Viking Sun. We have spoken to a number of fellow SeaDreamers who have some curiosity about Viking Sun. Two points of interest we know so far: you have to be at least 18 to sail and it is very all inclusive. At least on our cruise. Not trying to say VO is better than SD as they are very different in size alone. 48,000 GRT ship with 900 passengers still gives a very good passenger/space ratio but there is really no beating SD in the Caribbean. Anyway, hope to see some of my SD pals over on the VO thread.

All the best,

Jim & Lois :cool::cool:

Well Jim, old boy,we too have opted for something new

in the Caribbean for winter 2018. We've booked on

the Oceania Riviera for 10-nights RT Miami in February.

SD itins didn't work for us and using San Juan and

St Thomas for embarkations raises havoc for air flights

to and from Canada. Oceania gets very good reviews,

especially for foodies and though 1200 paxs will be

a somewhat new experience save QE's, we are looking

forward to the experience.

Hope you enjoy your trip and we'll be back on the

crossing in November, if not earlier.

O is typically my cruise line of choice. Enjoy the beautiful ship and cuisine. Jim, I will be reading your review of Viking. Not cruising right now, major home remodel going on in ZG country ;-)

Did I see you are boarding Viking Sun May 5th? That's the day we get off. :cool:

We had a cruise booked on Viking that ended in Bergen. Cancelled due to purchasing a new home which made timing an issue. However, they do have some nice itineraries and will be lurking around.

The only cruise booked currently is March 2019 on Regent for Asia and Japan. It was a great itinerary. If O had the same time and itinerary we would have gone with them. Ski season is not over end of March so I hope I don't get in trouble with the expert for cutting his ski season short ;-)
