Enjoying the Seaside

We are having a wonderful

Time on this seaside this week. We booked Bella ocean view and the stateroom is more than adequate for 2 women that overpacked. The Room is spotless, the beds are comfy and our Steward has met all of our quirky requests with a smile.

We are assigned 7.45 dining in Ipanema & have a fabulous server. The food has been very good for both of us. Lamb chops the first night were melt I your mouth tender. And the duck last night was very good though not as sickly sweet as many places serve it. Appetizers and sides are not fancy but fresh and tasty, and my sister is loving her desserts. I going low carb & finding plenty of good choices.

I have been pleased with the buffet for breakfast and lunch. The salad bar is underwhelming but what they have is fresh and good. Every day they have wonderful salami & meats & cheeses. So much better than Celebrity!! We have both found plenty of good choices, especially the rotisserie, though they don’t have a ton of variety & they don’t have the same thing repeated half a dozen times around the buffet.

Dinner at Butcher’s Cut was very good. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly & the roasted cauliflower was perfect. We had a nice water view table for 2 which was lovely. We chose wine instead of water, but I think they are still not offering any water for free in the specialty restaurants which is silly imo.

The Thermal Spa is amazing!!

Haven’t seen any shows as we are casino rats, but we may try at some point. The CC party was the nicest I have ever been to by far.

I have found the crew to be very eager to please. Some still have some learning to get totally up to speed, mainly because this ship is overwhelming I think!

Anyway, I will it’s more when we get home but I just wanted to give my perspective while I have a few minutes. I am totally satisfied with this cruise and may book seaside again though I might like to try a different MSC ship next time.

Oh, and no poop smell anywhere we have been, and we live on deck 5 forward where the earlier reports were scary!

Please forgive any typos as I am rushing before we depart st Thomas. Bottom Line is that all

Of my worries were for naught.

Make sure you try the salad bar on the deck 8 buffet. It seemed to be much better. We found it our last sea day and were sad that we ate up on deck 16 for lunch and breakfast the whole cruise.

Sounds like you are having a blast. I was on last week and we enjoyed our experience. New CD this week! What is his/her name? Did you request early or late dining to get the middle time? We had early Seashore at 6pm last week.

Casino rats:D

How is the casino treating you?

What do you play?

The casino is definitely winning! I am playing mostly slots as the VP is 6/5 which I just can’t play. Tables appear to be busy most evenings.

We booked on a casino offer, so the free drinks are flowing and the staff could not be nicer.

One concern I had was that being Bella we would somehow feel lower class but that has not been The case at all. Every single crew member has been kind and respectful, and I haven’t seen one haughty yacht club person. Sis & I have commented several times about how much we are enjoying the other passengers. I love the diversity in age & nationality. There are lots of families ( some very big extended ones) and for the most part the children have been very well behaved. Granted, we probably are not frequenting some of the areas the families spend time at. We haven’t seen that young spring break drunk HS:/college crowd that has made a few march cruises unpleasant. Just nice people everywhere we go.

Some Black card goodies arrived last night.

That was a section of Runaway Beach. Our excursion was modified so I don’t think it was exactly what we booked. It was very nice and they gave us a small credit. We enjoyed the day though I prefer doing my own thing normally.

Today is the last day and we are still very pleased with this cruise. I have spoken to folks who feel differently, but honestly many of their complaints seemed pretty petty to me. I heard nothing serious at all.

Food has been consistently good for us. Sis had one dish she didn’t care for but I chose well [emoji41]. A couple nights our server brought extra things he thought we should try. Our team was excellent really & kept our water & wine glasses full.

The thermal spa has been amazing. I cannot say enough good things about it. Sis enjoyed all 4 of her treatments and the staff there is lovely.

I’ll Update when I get home as it’s time to start the sad task of packing.

Chris,

Glad to hear you are having a good time and enjoying the Seaside. (Should I say "I told you so"? ;p)

Like I said, just ignore the CC nay-sayers and temper your expectations and everything works out just fine. I can't wait to hear more about your trip.
