I will be sailing on the Seaside 2/10. This will be our 7 time on MSC. We've been on the Divina 4 times. We really enjoyed the casino on the Divina for two reasons, No Smoking and they had an automated roulette wheel that 4 poeple coul sit at. Can anybody tell me if the Seaside casino has one of these, and is it non smoking??

Thank so much, my wife will be delighted about the roulette, 😁 and very upset about the smoking 😢!

Is the smoke as bad as in the Carnival ships?

Disappointed to hear that the Seaside casino is smoking allowed, unlike Divina. Is Divina casino still non smoking? Then, I may have to change my choice of ship. But I do still want to sail on MSC. As far as Carnival's casinos and smoke...it surely cannot get any worse than that! Piiiuuuuu!

Thank you so much.

We were told by MSC Miami office there was no smoking on the MSC ships out of Miami.

Happy cruising!

Well there is definately smoking on board. I know a number of people complained about balcony smokers. I guess for me I have never used a ship's casino because it is completely smoke filled. I actually used the one on the Seaside. Yes there were a couple of times you could detect smoke but it was very light and did not bother me at all.

There is smoking in Casino's in most all ships (even if area is limited)..... Lets be realistic...wheres their gambling...there is cigarettes!!

There was no smoking on divina in the casino. It was terrific! It’s been reported that MSc reps tell people there is no smoking on seaside either, but actual reports from those who have sailed are contradictory.

When Meraviglia was first launched, there was a no smoking policy in the casino. MSC has since introduced a smoking area. Maybe casino revenue is greater when a smoking area is provided? We certainly spend more time in the casino than we would if there was no smoking allowed. (DH is the smoker - I'm the gambler 🙄).

About 80-90% of the slots are on the smoking side of the Seaside casino (dumb decision, as least make it 50/50). We are recently off the ship and could not play on the smoking side were most of the games were because of the smoke (especially at night when it was crowded). Table games are all on the nonsmoking side of the casino (nice for the dealers). Originally this was suppose to be a 100% non smoking casino but Casino Manager has control, apparently).

We sailed Divina Oct 2017,, Sad to report that half the Casino is Smoking ,, Which drifts throughout the shopping area and the Theatre ,,

We are Booked on Seaside April 2018 ,, maybe our last if there is smoking inside the Ship

:(On the September 30, 2017 Divina sailing the casino was completely smoke free. Very disappointing that they changed....

I'm also upset to here that we won't be able to enjoy the casino on the Seaside due to smoke.

I did a search to find this thread because there's a picture of Seaside casino on Cruise Critic showing the entrance to the casino with rules posted and the first one being that it's a non-smoking venue. So that made me happy. Then as I was clicking through more pictures of the casino, I came upon one with a sign with graphic of an e-cig and a regular cig, like it was allowed in that area. So it's pretty confusing if you're new to the cruise line.

I've sailed on all the MSC Fantastica class ships over the last five years and each one allowed in the casinos {including Davina}. Perhaps I have just been unlucky and the policy changes per tour location.

Surveys have shown that 75 - 80% of heavy gamblers, problem drinkers, drug abusers and those with psychiatric disorders smoke. MRI's indicate that nicotine affects the same area of the brain that these behaviors excite. In the USA general population, smoking rates are much lower, between 20 - 25%.

Of course, you cannot reverse this and say that most smokers are gamblers, drinkers, etc.
