Where do the locals on the ship eat at & place walk to on our own

We are not booking any tours and looking for restaurant suggestions to walk to and place to explore on our own near the port. We just want to sample some food and get off the ship for a bit maybe get a few souvenirs.

We know the items to try are conch; fritters, salad & soup. Any other items not to miss while we are here?

Not looking for touristy place like senior frogs - want to stay with a local.

That looks delicious!!! Do they have kid-friendly food, as well?

Not really. Bahamian kids eat this way, but there's not American kids friendly food on the menu.

Conch Fritters, mac and cheese and most other offerings are slightly spicey and the grouper fingers are delicious, and made from real fish filets, not processed like most fish fingers at home.

My kids were adventurous eaters, so I never had a problem. They wouldn't eat kids meals anywhere we went.

Looked at their website and what they had to offer for lunch. Out of curiosity, have you tried their conch salad? How does it compare to what you can find at the Fish Fry?

Sorry, we haven't tried their conch salad, nor have we felt the need to go to the Fish Fry, especially since Bahamian Cookin' is within walking distance of the ship.

Try cracked conch. A conch filet that is flattened, pounded until lacey/soft, and lightly fried. Better than lobster , IMO. [emoji41]
