The One Thing I wish they would change about MSC is...

The one thing I wish they would change about MSC is ________.

The website is difficult, and I often have to wait for a long time on the phone. The customer interface needs improvement.

The one thing I hope they never change is ________.

Kids sail free! I have priced other lines and it is always more expensive with 2 kids, even when they offer supposed kids sail free promotions. MSC is making it affordable to vacation with my kids!

I wished they would change their food quality. It is the lowest in the industry

I wished they never would change building those magnificent beautiful mindbreaking cruise ships.

Absolute rubbish

Have you ever eaten in the buffet on a Carnival ship? I was super impressed by the Seaside's buffet in comparison!

Agree on Carnival, only cruised one time with them and never again. Bad food in MDR and absolute slop in the buffet.

I wish they would train their phone reps. I had to "train" my rep.....not aware of the 5% + 15% discount. (Thank you cruise critic for informing me.) Stupid me, I just assumed the reps gave you all the discounts you were entitled to. And, it wasn't just one rep....multiple reps for multiple qualifying cruises!

Never change swarovski atrium staircases. Some people get excited about food; I get excited about bling!

Allowing people in certain Aurea suites the ability to purchase YC access for $100 per person.

For example:

On the Seaside & Seaview the whirlpool suite.

On the Bellissima the double deck & corner whirlpool suite.

These suites are nicer then a regular deluxe YC suite and people that want a really nice cabin should be given the option to access the YC. Honestly...you’d be adding maybe 20-30 people to the YC, it would generate additional revenue for MSC, and would make people happy to have the option to have YC access.

I doubt that it would make the people who actually booked the Yacht Club happy....

Those who are booked in YC rooms wouldn’t notice the difference. You’re talking about 10-15 suites on each ship. Seems like common sense for me. The double deck suite on the Bellissima is probably the nicest cabin yet it won’t have YC access which baffles me.

If those suites were designated as Yacht Club suites (outside of the complex), that would be great. It would give people booking the Yacht Club an option similar to the NCL Haven Suites that are outside of the complex (my personal favorites). In that case everything from butler service/concierge would be included.

With the "add Yacht Club for $100" scenario, there would have to be the preparation for all of those suites to take the option (who wouldn't?). If the Yacht Club is large enough and designed for those extra people, that is one thing but just adding more people after the fact could be a problem. Maybe the World Class ships will have larger Duplex suites with Yacht Club designation and the Yacht Club will be designed for the capacity....

I agree with you that those suites should have YC access but not with a $100 "access fee". They should be YC suites and they should probably cost at least $2000 more than now.

I agree that the best suites should have access because they should be YC suites.

I don't want more people in the YC but the best thing should be to skip the YC inside "suites", I think.

(Just my opinion!)

10-15 suites is not an insignificant percentage increase for the YC.

Might actually create some capacity issues during dinner service.

We also like that the lounge is quiet. It may be selfish but I wouldn't want them to do this.

Also, $100 dollars seems a little low for a week.

Maybe it's a little strange that the nicest suites aren't YC. But we'll always take that tradeoff. I don't want to sail MSC outside the YC.

Nooooo. Not the inside suites.

That's the best part.

First time we sailed MSC it was on the Divina.

We found that the only time outside sleeping we spent in the cabin was to bring alcohol from the mini bar to the casino, it was before YC had free drinks ship wide.

So when I saw the seaside was coming out with inside cabins I was very happy. To me it's got no cons, and it's cheaper.

All the things we want out of the YC is the YC, not the cabin.

I'll agree it's a little strange to have insides in the "elite Yacht Club", but it's great for me.

10-15 suites would have the option of paying extra for YC access, doesn’t mean everyone would pay the extra amount. If 10 suites do it, that’s 20 people total. You won’t even notice it since there’s at least that much fluctuation when there’s more then 2 people per YC cabin.

I think a lot of this comes down to a misunderstanding of what the YC is actually offering. It isn't a 'suite class' per se, but rather a 'ship within a ship' concept. In that respect I think that explains why some of the 'best' suites such as the duplexes on the Meraviglia-class aren't part of the YC.

Actually, one of the things I love about MSC's model over NCL is it is cut and dry. Want YC? Book YC.

On NCL people are always complaining that granny or kids or friends outside the Haven should be able to get access. In fact, we had a woman on our Epic rollcall who was in the haven who kept inviting others to the pool and courtyard.

I love the way MSC has so many options. Want YC? Book YC. SIMPLE! MSC, you've got it right!

It would overwork the butlers to have to serve the other areas. When we were on the Divina last October we had one of the bow suites on the 12th floor which was a YC cabin. The only time we saw our butler was around the lounge and when we requested escorts off the ship. They also worked the cabins in the YC area.

I think that it's very strange that the best/biggest suites can't get the best "experience". Someone might want to book the best suite and YC and that's not possible.

On NCL the biggest suites have Haven access even if they aren't located close to the Haven on the older ships with Haven. The Garden Villas are close to the Haven but the Owner suites are not and they still have Haven access.

I agree, SC - especially when you see the prices for some of the best suites on MSC and they don't get YC perks.

I'd choose the YC service over a spacious suite any day. (How long do you spend in the cabin, anyway? On our Meraviglia YC sailing, we hardly spent any time there.)

5 Star experiences don't come cheap. YC gives us the luxury cruise experience without paying luxury line prices. We've never come away feeling "Well that wasn't worth the extra cost". In fact, we usually say "Now, that was worth every penny - and then some!"
