We found ourselves unexpectedly in Bayonne on an Azamara cruise, and wandered across the river to the city museum. It was delightfully informative and interesting - you might give that a try for a few hours. Enjoy the adventure!

We went to there on the cruise last year and found it interesting. On a very wet day we took a taxi to.St Jean de Luz and a few euro bus trip back to the **** via Biarritz. The mooring was commercial but the tiwn and surroundings fun.
