Gem ??

Thinking about booking a cruise on the Gem next year. I know that's a while from now and things can change. But how's the live entertainment?

Norwegian always has great live music all over the ships. Much better than anything I've seen on Carnival. Comedians however can be hit or miss.

I just got off the Gem this past weekend. I thought the live entertainers at the bars/atrium/Spinnaker were awesome. There was an female acoustic guitarist, and french lounge act trio, a piano player/singer (think Frank Sinatra-style), and an Asian pop-band that did a Beatles tribute show and a bunch of other covers of rock/pop songs from the 60s-80s. As for the actually theater shows, I only went to Blazing Boots and the dancing was very good.

There was a great singer/guitar player on the ship named LEO who unfortunately is no longer on the ship.

Having been on a number of Gem cruises, thought the entertainment was quite good

I'm looking at the Gem for next fall also. One of my favorite features of a ship is the outdoor movie screen. Odd that the Gem doesn't have one. Has anyone heard about possible additions or upgrades to the ship in the near future?
