Yes, by all means start packing! I live near Ft. Lauderdale and plan to drive down to see her when she arrives!

Do we know when the christening will be? Will that be the morning after she arrives in Ft Lauderdale?

I'm pretty sure the christening will be done in the yard when she is launched.

Has HAL announced a Christening Cruise or just a Premiere Voyage?

She touched water for the first time last month at Fincantieri and, earlier that month, had the coin ceremony by her Madrina (not the same as her future godmother) Anne Marie Bartels, a HAL President Club member

Nothing out official yet but the names Darren Bowland and and and Stan Kuppens keep popping upl Mr. Kuppens has taken out the last four new builts. If true, it'll be a first for Capt Bowland, eh

Has HAL announced a Christening Cruise or just a Premiere Voyage?

We booked her first cruise with pax on December 5, 2018 , an 18 day transatlantic with a couple of days tacked on after Fort Lauderdale...should be so fun....did the K-dam 30 day Amsterdam to Florida last year and loved her....guess there are minimal changes to the Nieuw Statendam but will be so fun!

I have not sailed with Captain Bowland, but have sailed with Mr. Kuppens. He is a "Class Act" who is very guest friendly and runs an efficient and friendly hotel operation. Crew members seem to really like him.

Capt. Bowland has a lot of experience; he came from RCI and was most recently a fleet captain with HAL traveling to ships for Corporate Marine Quality Assurance

Certain positions are already there staying in hotels until the ship is ready to move in

Captain/Chief Engineer/Chief Electrician/Facility Mngr, etc. usually by Summer
