Uber in Juneau

there are more Lyft drivers here than Uber.

 

And most of the drivers work for the State, so the availability is not very good during the day. Uber and Lyft have also been pricing about the same as a regular taxi.

I would love to hear any other experiences using uber/lyft as well. I am debating using rideshare vs evergreen taxi service, leaning towards rideshare as it seems every touristy place I've been where it's been implimented, it is so much easier and less hassle than the oldschool ways.

I talked with some friends who *were* Uber or Lyft drivers. Many have stopped because of the local inebriates. Short rides (one was literally *2* blocks) and others had issues with the passengers (throwing up in car, not paying, damage to vehicle, state of mind issues, etc). Gotta thank our lovely homeless & drug addicted homeless population on that one (don't worry, you won't see too many of them. The cruise lines pay 2 people to push them out of sight before the ships arrive -- seriously).
