Questions re: Upcoming Panama Canal Zuiderdam

When you go into the locks are you on port or starboard side of does it change?

 

It can vary. Sometimes both lanes are opened for ships heading the same direction.

We're booked in a Zuiderdam aft cabin this coming June. What was your impression of the cabin and it's view?

The stateroom was good. If your room is on Deck 5 it is completely covered.

 

Having an aft stateroom has some nice advantages: very little foot traffic past your door, you can eat dinner on your veranda even when the ship is moving because there is no wind, Room Service is two minutes from your door so food is always hot, its two minutes elevator ride from the Lido Market to pick up coffee 24/7 or snacks during the day, two minute elevator ride down to the front door to the dining room, and you can see both sides of the ship.
