Parking at the Port of Baltimore

We are sailing the RCI Grandeur out of Baltimore in February. Last time we did this, we stayed at one of those stay a night and park your car there, and then shuttle to the port.

This time we are just considering driving in and then driving home after the cruise. So where can you park and about what are the rates for a 9 day cruise?

Parking at the pier is $15 per day. It is easy to get to, right off I-95.

Parking is right at the cruise terminal.

You drive in, stop by the luggage bins, off load your luggage, then drive to pay for parking. $15 per night. There are two lines, credit and cash. A tip, the cash line is typically shorter and moves faster. Exactly change helps if you do the cash line.

RC parking is to the right of the cruise terminal when facing the front (back to I-95). They will direct you. You can drop off others at the terminal then go park.

Are there any 'discount' type lots even a mile away where they shuttle you to the terminal?

None that I know of. There are some hotels that offer stay, park and cruise. Check hotelnparking.com for a list.

No, no external parking lots, like at airports.

You could park at one of the airport lots and take a taxi/Uber/Lyft to the cruise port.

DH and I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Baltimore. It was right next door to a casino, where we had supper the evening we arrived. We parked our car there and they shuttled us over to the pier. Some of the parking is covered and some is open. We did this last year and I can't remember the cost of the room but I think it was about the same as the 9 days of parking at the pier. We just like to be in the port city the night before the ship sails and always get a hotel with free parking and a shuttle.

We have decided to do the Stay a night and park your car once again. For reasons too long to go into, we will be staying the night post cruise.

The last time we did this, we stayed at a hotel, Days Inn in Glen Burie (Please excuse any spelling).It was the cheapest one and for one night it was sufficient. For us, the only problem is that it really is in the middle of no where.

So this time, we looked up a few of these places, and this same motel is still the cheapest but we are looking for maybe a motel that is near something that we can do for the day. I know several people have recommended the Best Western. Is that near things that we can do for the day? Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

You could look for hotels in the Harbor East area which is the new and very popular area of the Inner Harbor.

You also have the Inner Harbor hotels. All which are walking distance to many activities in the Inner Harbor, Fells Point and Little Italy neighborhood.

If the Best Western you mentioned is the one on O'Donnell street the hotel is located across the street from a truck stop, low income house close by and police cameras mounted on street poles near by.

My husband and I are staying at La Quinta - also in Glen Burnie. It's about a 20 minute drive to the port and about 25 minutes to the Inner Harbour. Lots to do at Inner Harbour.

Thanks very much for the info on the best Western. Do any of the hotels mentioned, in the 'Inner Harbor' area offer the same deal, stay a night and park your car for the cruise?
