Hi Everyone,

My DH and I will be cursing to Bermuda on The Escape. Can you please recommend food places for use to get authentic bermudian food. Also what authentic dishes do you recommend for us to try.

Thank you

Bermuda is a British Overseas Territory and the local cuisine is overall very English and reflects its colonial history. There's a little bit of Portuguese influence sprinkled in.

Basically local cuisine that's unique to the island will revolve around fresh fish. The fish chowder (in various forms) is at several establishments on the island both upscale and no frills. The fish sandwich at Art Mel's Spicey Dicey is a local favorite.

Aside from that the food is geared very much to English and American tastes. Unique drinks of course are the dark and stormy as well as the rum swizzle which you can get at the Swizzle Inn (a bit of a tourist trap but fun for a visit if it's not busy).

I would love to know of some great restaurants/food where the locals go. We always try to find the best authentic food on each island we visit. Way better than the tourist trap spots! Hope others can offer some tips!
