"Do not disturb sign" on Riviera?

This may sound silly, and we'll obviously find out in a few days (we sail with Oceania for the first time on December 22nd), but...

Is there a "Do not disturb" sign for the PH Suites?

Is it a mechanical device on the door, or something that hangs on a door handle, or?

Thank you.

It is a plastic card that you insert into the slot next to the door. One side says do not disturb and the other side says please make up my room. The slot that is on the wall also holds envelopes, messages, specialty restaurant reservation reminders etc.

And if you us it as we did, we just told the Butler (only) he/she could come in and set up breakfast on the dining table---so when we got up everything was ready for us. Nice way to cruise.

Rick

Thanks.

We've done that in the past, and it's terrific ;)

However, we "only" have a PH suite this time, so it's just one room... not quite the same in terms of giving the Butler carte blanche to "walk in anytime".

We figured this would be a good way to start with Oceania, and the PH suites on Riviera (and Marina) seemed to be very nice "one room" accommodations.

Also, on Oceania/Riviera, we expect to spend a lot more time in the common areas than on larger ships.

But yes, it was very nice to find breakfast waiting when we got up, or preferred snacks waiting after taking a nap.

We are now hoping that Riviera is cleaned up with the Noro problem; we sail tomorrow.

Right now, we are at the Intercontinental, looking at the Port. GREAT way to "start" a cruise. (That's but one of the "tricks" we learned on CruiseCritic :) )

However, ALL passenger elevators were out of commission for a while this morning, and of course, this is a high-rise hotel.

At least the service elevator was running, and management was doing a floor-by-floor up and down service to help guests get from or back to their rooms. All fixed now. We hope.

Happy Holidays!

Happy holidays. Have a wonderful trip. Let us know how things are on the ship. We are going in February. Can't wait. Wish we were leaving tomorrow.

We'll definitely be reporting back.

And if the Noro really is defeated (and, well, not brought back on, which could happen anywhere, anytime, unfortunately), I'm sure we'll be delighted.

And *if* there is Noro (or any GI bug going 'round), then let's hope they follow appropriate protocols.

Mostly, at this point, we just hope that the recent (better?) care they've taken has worked.
