Carnival Cheers! Progam Rules

If you get to know your bartender as a couple at first and tip extra (even just a little bit), you will find it much easier to have just one of you get two drinks.

But officially that "shouldn't" happen.

I will admit it is rare for my wife and I to be not side-by-side when cruising, so I didn't get a huge chance to experiment with that scenario.

As long as he has both cards there should be no problem although it is best if the bartender gets to know you first - extra tipping really not needed. On a short cruise with a lot of young people the bartender (who I really did not know yet) asked my wife to raise her hand from across the room (casino) to make sure we were not buying for someone underage

We spent almost all our time at the serenity deck where we got to know our bartenders by name (and they learned our names of course). We tipped extra. We had no problem getting drinks for both of us. We took great selfies with them too. It was wonderful. Wish I was there now.....

Considering the Cheers program but one question I have is, if my boyfriend goes to the bar to order a drink for the both of us, can he? Or do I have to be right next to him?

My wife and I do this frequently on every cruise we have been on and it has never been an issue. I don’t know if it makes a difference that both cards have the same last name, but neither of us has ever had a bartender not let us buy two drinks at the same time on two cards with only one of us going to the bar.

My FIL and I would frequently be handed our spouses' S&S cards in order to fetch drinks, never had an issue with it. A couple times we were asked where they were and we'd point over at the table they were sitting at and they'd wave at the bartender and we were good to go :D

I'm keen to know the answer to this one too.

My wife and daughter tend to want to go to bed about 10.30-11pm and I have an hour to my self in the casino. What if ive hit my 15-per day limit by that time and fancy a couple of nightcaps, can I take my wife's cheers card and use that?

I doubt i'll hit over 15 drinks personally but you never know. ;-)

If you get to know your bartender and no supervisor around some will do it. Also helps as mentioned above if both of you are together the first couple of times and tip extra. I tipped $1 per drink and kept my Wife's FOLIO number written down with me. The bartenders can either swipe your S&S card or put in the FOLIO number to ring up your drink. The tip goes directly to the bartender who rings up your drink and not into a general pool to be shared by all.

Officially no, he can't. What others get away with may or may not work for you.

We tip an extra $1 cash per round and usually make friends with a bartender. Not only did that get us drinks almost too strong to drink but on several nights i went to bed and my husband stayed up and drink my remaining drinks afrer his were gone.

Never tip extra to get service that is expected. Tip at the end of the cruise only after you are satisfied that they went above and beyond. Tipping 40% is just silly, but the bartenders won't complain.

Or one could take the attitude that the first time at a bar, I will tip that extra bit. If service is not up to par, the extra tip gets smaller or disappears. Oddly enough, I've not had that happen yet - they are usually very eager to get my next drink and make sure it isn't weak.

If Carnival revokes both Cheers programs (without refund) for cheating, would you be okay with the consequences of your actions?

Exactly ProgRock.

I have found they consistently go above and beyond, And I didn't necessarily tip every single time. (My sweet friends gave us 25 one dollar bills since it was our 25th anniversary that we could use to tip on the trip! It was a great idea and very useful!)

As far as the casino question, hubby and I were on the Serenity Deck daily and could wave to the bartender, so there was no question that we were legit.

Some of you are falling into the "not legit" area with those questions.

How about this one? My wife and I are technically in two separate cabins since our family of four wanted to spread out and we had to have an adult in each cabin booked. I am definitely getting Cheers, she is going to pay as she goes because it isn't worth her while to get it. Will I be able to get her drinks using her card at the same time I get my Cheers drinks?

I would think as long as she is there the first time, and occasionally visible when you go order, shouldn't be a problem, since you'd be paying for that other drink. But again, technically according to the rules as written, she needs to be there for all drink orders, so if you have an issue, you'll just have to go get her.

On the other hand, since she doesn't have Cheers!, you can just pay for her drink on your card (unless you have very personalized finances!) - Cheers! allows you to order a round of drinks with one credited to your Cheers! and all others just charged as normal pay-as-you-go drinks.
