See Guiaoleo.com.ar for starters.

My favorites are Norte, Marcelo in Hotel Intursur, Vasco Francais, Mirasol de la Recova, El Estrebe, Pecora Nera, Sarkis, Resto (in Architects bldg. on Montevideo)...but there are too many too list unless you specify a cuisine...

We simply look for a place that is full of locals. IF the menu is in three or four languages we pass.

We had good luck in BA simply by doing this. The hotel reception folks can be helpful if you ask the right questions. Some will send you to the tourist places. We always ask for a place frequently by the locals. Seems to work everywhere we go.

BA is a huge city. It has a great transit system but we would not go across town to a recommended restaurant when there are typically some good ones in the area where you may be staying.
