Cabin location

Does anyone know anything about cabins 8008/A3 and cabins forward of that number? I realize that we're likely to experience more motion because of the location but am more concerned about how quiet it is that far forward.

Any comments would be much appreciated.

Forward cabins, in general experience more pitch motion, the up and down motion. We personally enjoy that while sleeping as you tend to become almost weightless if the sea is kicking up. I sleep like a baby during those conditions. It is likely to be more quiet forward, especially higher up. The lower cabins can hear the anchor when it is dropped as well as the bow thrusters. I also like the "whoosh" sound of the bow pitching into the swells. In all, I much prefer forward to aft where engine noise can sometimes be an issue as can public room noise for certain cabins. When you get right to it, any cabin on board beats the office!

All the best,

Jim.

Thanks Jim. I'll be looking forward to that "whoosh" sound. We're "rag" sailors so hopefully the motion won't bother me too much.

We were in Cabin 8022 for the short trip to Halifax. We felt NO

motion and slept like babies-very smooth.

I would recomend a more Aft cabin for older people or people with

any sort of walking impairment -the Resturants, Shows, Casinos, Bars are located in the Aft of the ship.

-It is a long walk home to your Cabin.

I was almost next door to you in cabin 8017 (other side of the ship) and felt "some" motion at times. But nothing too alarming ... that pleasant motion when a ship is at sea. :)

On QM2 the Theatre, Planetarium, Library, and Canyon Ranch Spa are foreward; The Casino, Purser, and shops are midships; and the restaurants, Queens Room, and disco are aft. Most happily, there are bars everywhere.
