Akaroa

We wanted to visit the Giant's House after our nature wildlife boat tour in the morning and was wondering how far of a walk it is from the wharf. I read some parts can be quite steep but that there is a free transport bus to the Giant's House from where the tenders leave you off...does anyone know if this is still operating? Are there taxi's nearby?

10 minute walk up a steep hill.:):):)

It's a pleasant walk. The road up to the entrance is a gentle climb, the really steep bit is actually going up the driveway to the entrance gate. We did it on a very hot day. I'm not very fit and have a bad knee but I managed it quite comfortably with only a few grumbles going up and down the steep driveway and steps.

The garden at the Giant's House is absolutely stunning and the views across the harbour from the top of the garden are beautiful.
