Embarkation time and luggage

Hi

This is a whole new experience for us. P&O have allocated is a time of 15:30 for embarkation. We have a hotel booked for the previous night in Southampton and they provide car parking and taxi to port but we have to leave room by 10am.

Can we arrive at ship early, leave bags and go and get lunch somewhere? Or won't we be able to drop of bags in the morning? P&O paperwork seem to imply that we have to arrive at ship at 15:30.

Thanks!

The earliest Arrival Time is at 12.30pm, which is reserved for our Ligurian Tier and suite guests (see below). The latest time you can check in is one hour before the ship departs.

Priority will be given to those who arrive at their allotted time. You are welcome to arrive earlier of course, but if you do we will ask you to make yourself comfortable in the terminal until we are able to check you in. This may well be before your allotted time, we promise we won’t make you wait around unnecessarily.

Yes P&O do allow you to drop off your luggage early, 11:30 seems to be the time they start, so you could then get the taxi to take you back into town.

Or, although you need to vacate your room the hotel will have a lounge to sit and a porters lodge to store your luggage, allowing you to book the taxi for later.

However P&O do not prevent you from arriving early, and they will give you a card which will be called forward to board as soon as they have time available, we have rarely had to wait more than 30 minutes when arriving before our time slot.

Exactly the same for us in May this year , booked out of hotel (Jurys) 10am , they kept our luggage secure in room behind reception , then went shopping etc in city centre .

Returned 2pm for coffee and taxi was booked for 2.45pm to cruise terminal , worked fine .
