We are looking for a cruise that spends at least 2 days Gatun Lake or stops as well in Panama City in order to take both the train journey and ferry trip thru the canal and possibly see panama city. It appears all major lines allow only 1 day for shore excursions between Gatun and Colon. Is this so?

Taking a cruise to this part of the world allows visitors to see lots of ports of call all on one trip.

On a cruise with Princess Cruises for example, you could take a boat tour along Gatun Lake before walking through the rainforest visiting the ecological trail that surrounds the lake. The trip ends in Panama, were you’ll get to explore the canal locks.

Norwegian Cruise Line also offers fantastic exploration of the area as guests have the chance to meet with Embera tribe that still live in traditional villages within Panama’s rainforest.
