Booked for December and looking forward to it. What can you guys tell me about the ship. Coffee Bar? Favorite thing you ate? Favorite show or activity? What is something you wished you had packed? Any suggestions or ideas are greatly appreciated.

We took the Valor in maybe '13 out of San Juan. The trip was great but we hated the ship itself. The reason? You can not go from one end of the ship to the other on some decks. There are things like the restaurant right in the middle which makes a barrier. You have to go up or down, then forward or back, then back down or up. Just kind of complicated and time consuming. We are back to our favorite ship, the Pride in Feb. None of that nonsense. Yea!

We took the Valor last February. It is a beautiful ship, the staff was friendly, food was pretty good. We loved the dive in movie, but make sure you pack some sweat pants and a hoodie, because even under the blankets it is chilly out there at night.

If you can snag a reservation, go to the Dr Seuss breakfast. I saw plenty of childless adults there, and it was a cute fun time. We liked the steakhouse, get the cheesecake for dessert!

Left Monday Jan 22. Weather forecast beginning Jan 15 thru 22 showed Cozumel and Progeso with 80 degrees but not just cloudy but thunderstorms for a solid 2 weeks. Forecast on Jan 22 for the week, the same, 80s but thunderstorms all week. So I prepped for rain.

Weather Jan 22-26 weather in the 80s and sunny. Jan 27 as we arrived in port, fog closed the port for awhile and pouring rain in the area.

Saying that, outside the ship in the sun was fine but inside the ship is always cold. So in December you will hopefully have weather like we did, nice outside but very cold inside.

We loved the valor. Cruises in October 2017 and again thanksgiving day. Smaller ship but so fun. In October it was just my husband and I. In November, my sister, mom and the children went along with my cousin and her family. We also had friends that went as a group. Cold when we left Galveston but the second day the weather was awesome, warm and sunny. Embarkation was very fast both times, debarkation is dreaded no matter how easy. Here is my review. We just returned from a 5 day cruise on the Valor and had a great time. I highly recommend the Texas Legacy band (70's, 80's, 90's cover band) that plays in the Red Frog Pub. We are West Coast Swing dancers and enjoyed dancing to their music. Their final cruise together is Feb 19, 2018.

We also enjoyed the America ROCKS show on the final night.

BTW: Frankie, the Cruise Director, really knows how to work the crowd. Chow for now!

Just got off the Valor last week. I loved it! The ship itself is nice, but is definitely starting to show it's age. There was also a weird sewage type smell in certain areas. The art auction was fun, and my girlfriend and I ended up buying 6 paintings when we honestly didn't intend on buying any. The staff was great and as previously stated, Frankie is AWESOME.

I hope you like older country music, because that's what you'll get about 95% of the time. I'm not a huge fan myself, but it was nice to see other guests get into it.

One tip. Go see the shows! I'm a 28 year old guy, so I didn't really think I'd like them, but they were REALLY good!

I'm excited to try the Vista next year, so that I can see what a new ship is like. But for being almost 15 years old, the Valor is very nice.

Coffee Bar? yes on the fifth deck

Favorite thing you ate? sushi on lido deck, flat iron steak in MDR

Favorite show or activity? casino!

What is something you wished you had packed? warmer clothes. I was on the first of January. The first night people had coats on to watch the dive in movie.

Any suggestions or ideas are greatly appreciated.

Although it is one of their older ships I loved it. Can't wait to get back on

Just off the Valor last Thursday! It was our first cruise and we all loved it! We did Cozumel and Progreso. If you plan to do any shopping, I feel like better deals were to be had in Progreso! Wish I had known that before. Spent a lot in Cozumel only to find things half price before bargaining in Progreso.

The staff were amazing! Our dining staff became like family and we were sad to leave them! Everybody knew us by name. We went to one show which was a rock and roll show and it was really good. Wish we had gone to more, but we kept so busy. The food was hit or miss but that's just personal preference. The dining room kept things moving, didn't take hours like some people report.

We had an interior room and it was adequate and clean. We loved the bed. It was super comfy. The room had a small cooler/fridge. Kept things sort of cold but not ice cold. Ice readily provided by room steward. We brought a small fan to keep air moving and their is a temp control dial on the wall.

Everybody was soooo nice on this ship! The staff were constantly cleaning everything. They never stopped moving!

My favorites were the Chocolate Buffet, the Warm Chocolate Melting Cake, Deck 3 outside the lobby, and Fun Ship Drinks!
