Hawaii - POA and time of year

Certain parts of the Hawaiian islands can be windy almost every day. The direction of the wind can be an issue as well...one direction brings in what is called "vog"- volcanic fog, which can be irritating, and certainly diminishes views.

The answer to your question is...don't sweat the small stuff. It is exceptionally rare for weather in Hawaii to be a negative impact on your vacation.

Curious....how many times have you been there, to make this really overly broad statement?

We have been there almost 30 times...twice this year, and can't say with any certainty that any one time will be windy and rainy.

After years of living & visiting here, I wondered the same thing.

cwms...there isn’t a bad time to visit Hawaii & here’s a link from a Maui-based meteorologist with general trip planning weather by month.

My favorite weather is during the winter when temperatures average in the upper 70° to lower 80° temperatures which are about 10° cooler than in the summertime heat.
