Tips for trying to secure a Vibe pass on the Getaway

Five of us will be cruising together: DH, me, and DS 22 (we will all be in the same midship balcony room and use the third person free promotion for DS) plus my parents -- active seniors who are both 81 (They will be in an adjoining midship balcony room). I'm looking at deck 14 more aft in the midship category near elevators for my dad.

Anyway DS 22 wants me to get Vibe passes if I can for him and my mom. They both like hanging out in the hot tub and have computer / photography interests in common and do a lot of photo editing, playing with apple stuff etc. together (thinking they'd do more of that in the room and on our balcony, but maybe they might do some of that on Vibe loungers, bring up MacBook pros, ipads, cameras, etc.

I heard I should try to get the earliest boarding group I can. Any tips for trying for an early boarding group?

I heard that first thing upon arrival I need to try to get those passes right away and that both my son and my mom need to be there (someone else can't do it for them). Where to we head on the Getaway to get these?

I also realize that they only sell like 70 passes, so I have said that we will try, but to definitely not count on it. And both parties are totally cool if it doesn't work, and in that case they will just use hot tubs in H20 area and elsewhere.

The other three of us just don't really hang at a pool or hot tub, so it only makes sense to get the passes for two out of the five in our party.

Anyway DS thinks the Vibe access would be awesome. (Well he'd really like the Haven, but that's not in budget, but Vibe passes are lol).

Appreciate any tips, recommendations. And I'm trying to level set expectations that this is not by any means something we can count on being able to get. But I would like to maximize chances for them if that's possible.:p

Greetings. You are correct in everything you said. We sailed on her in Nov. We arrived to the guest relations desk by 11:30, and we were able to get the last 4 tickets! So, early is early. You will enjoy the Vibe! Good luck!

So how do you get on and to the desk by 11:30? When do they allow you start to board? I am booked in The Haven when will they allow us to start to board.

Haven boards first. If you want Vibe passes, you'll get them A) because you board first and B) because Haven gets what Haven wants. lol I am honestly 99% certain the Haven concierge holds some back in case you guys want them.

I have never had a problem getting Vibe passes on Escape or, last November, on Getaway.

The key is getting in line at the crack of dawn. People are at the port (as was I) and waiting in the first line starting around 8-8:30. I would suggest getting in line no later than 9:30 to insure that you get boarding group 1. The time goes pretty fast as they usually open the first security line by 10 or so. Or at least that was my experience both times.

Another tip is the boarding area is kind of deceptive. There is a big overhead sign that says BOARDING and everyone tends to sit over in those seats while waiting to board. The actual boarding area is around the way, past the drinks station, go left and it is on the right there. We were standing against the wall to the right of the bathrooms/vending machines. So we had Group 1, were standing right there and were #s 10-14 on Getaway.

You buy the passes on Getaway at Guest Services.

The bottom line is it is a true crap shoot and totally depends upon how many people there early actually want Vibe versus just wanting to start their vacation asap and/or if there is a group on your cruise and/if any or all of them want Vibe because they also get priority boarding. But as a rule, if you get there before 9, 9:30, score Boarding Group 1, stand where I told you and move fairly fast, you should be fine.

Good Luck

I will say, if you don't get them, don't worry about it because if it's the same person, the head bartender woman on Getaway was a buzzkill the whole week with these insane rules that were not on Escape. Vibe on Escape was a big daily party. Getaway? Not so much. She kept talking about how the previous week, there were fights and people got drunk and then blamed Vibe staff for over serving or something and she was talking about her superiors watching her...blah. TMI you know? We all have work stress. I'm here to have fun!

Escape had cookies, bar chex mix stuff, music. I mean it was fine and I wouldn't have traded having a private bar, or the bartenders working for her and 2 basically empty hot tubs to ourselves most of the week as there is usually never more than 20 people in there max but compared to Escape, if I ever sailed Getaway again, I wouldn't be that upset if I didn't get Vibe if the same woman was in charge. I don't remember her name but yeah....buzzkill rule enforcer. lol Don't remember her name and you know, she was nice enough but hopefully they moved her cause there was no "Miami Beach Vibe" in Vibe last November.

Thanks so much. Great tips. Does everyone in the same cabin need to board/get on together? DS, me, and my mom and dad are the early risers who wouldn't mind getting in line early. DH especially would probably like to sleep later at the hotel near the cruise port and take a cab over later. Is that an option or does DH need to get up early too if we want to line up early? DH, DS, and I are all in the same cabin. My dad might want to come later too due to mobility issues and needing a place to sit. He cannot stand up in a line for a long period of time.

The Vibe is physically 3" away from the Havens sundeck. They are separated by a metal barrier. As a Havens guest, you have access to the Havens sundeck, Havens indoors sun deck, Havens hot tub, Havens pool, Havens sauna.

As a Havens guest, IF you finish your security check and check-in, you will be escorted onboard starting around 11 am. After Havens guests start boarding, Latitudes Ambassadors, Platinum Plus, and Platinum guests are allowed to board. General boarding starts around 11:30 (which starts the race to Guest Services).

I suppose that it wouldn't really matter who showed up early to purchase the passes... They are not connected to your room key card in any way. You will receive an access card for entry, and a wristband (which I have never even once put on)

I guess what I am wondering here is if my son and I can go early and get two passes and if I can give the one I get to my mom, so she can board later with my dad who has mobility issues and won't want to be standing in long lines before they start moving. Or does my mom need to be there early with us?

She was still in charge in January. Totally different experience from the Escape. Wasn't bad but just wasn't the same fun atmosphere I had on the Escape. No personal music, no group 5 o'clock shots etc. She was extremely nice but in school teacher stickler for the rules way

Yes. If your son & you went early and were able to get an early boarding group you could go grab the two passes and then give your swipe card & wrist band to your mother. Just be aware that the initial charge of $99 for your moms vibe pass will be charged to your cabin

It sounds like she's perfect for us.

We don't need the party, isn't that around the pool?

We want VIBE to be a calm, adults only, place to relax and that's what is was when we were on the Breakaway.

The 5 o'clock shots sound fun, but I fully support no personal music. I never understand how people don't realize that just because they think their music is great, the rest of the world does not. That's why ear buds were invented. Use them.

We have gotten Vibe on Escape/Getaway and Posh on Epic.

1. Get to the port at 8:30 - be first in line - when the doors open/make sure your sitting on the chairs!! get your group 1 ticket.

2. When they call for group 1 - RUN LIKE THE WIND TO THE GUEST SERVIES area - Escape- it is Headliners but Epic and Getaway it was Guest services

3. They had a deal when we were on., - passes were $99. deal was $199 with a cabana - but you got a $100. OBC .. so you had a private place to leave your stuff when you were up there...up to you to take it..either is available. Whoever is getting the passes - you need to be together -0 so if your buying 2 for the group/then the 2 need to be there. they give you wrist bands to wear.

4. So worth it on the Getaway - no chairs anywhere on the deck - and walking through those doors - it was like shangralah - two hottubs with covers on the top - padded lawn chairs - water and fruit served to you . your own bartenders - top shelf liquor and private bathrooms and mist showers. Such an amazing spot to see the ocean on sea days.....good luck

This is fantastic. DS and I will be there at 8:30 a.m. I wanted to buy the Vibe pass for my mom anyway for her birthday, so this will be a great plan.

Hello! Just off the Getaway yesterday. We had Vibe passed last year on the Escape and had so much fun we were so excited to get them this year. We arrived at the port at 8:30 and got boarding group 1...When they began boarding, there were only three people ahead of us to board (excluding any preboards) and unfortunately they were sold out even though we rushed to Guest Services. We were SO disappointed, but ended up still having a great trip. I believe there were a significant amount of preboards on this trip and also, I believe our terminal (B) was delayed in boarding because so many people tried cutting the line and saying they were platinum but when they were asked to show documentation, they couldn't. This HIGHLY irritated (rightfully so) the employees in charge of boarding and we were delayed, so I believe many people in boarding group 1 at terminal C got passes. Such a shame that people try and cut the line by lying. Long story short, no matter what we still had a great trip but were bummed not to have Vibe this year.

Thanks you so much for posting. I am glad you had a great time despite not getting the passes, but certainly understand your disappointment. We will need to level set expectations that even arriving early like you did we may not get the passes.

Could someone tell me the difference between terminals B and C? Is there an advantage to one over the other? My boarding pass reads “C”. We are interested in the VIBE passes but I do not like the idea of being part of a stampede. Reminds me of that old movie “It’s a Mad Mad World”!
