Would you like to hear GREAT story???

Here is goes...

I called CR Satuday and want to book cruise on Spectrum of the seas new ship that going out April 2019 for my friends. CR representative said that he cannot book this cruise bec there is no such ship with RCCL and this ship belong to Celebrity. I tell him that why ship the "... of the Seas"? and pls go to RCCL website and look up ....also I gave him my reservation number (I did it with Tyler URComp) ....basically our conversation ended bec he couldn't help me at all... was so mad and contacted URComped --- cruise was booked with 10 mins ---even my friends not gamble too much just couple hundred druring cruise. URComp been willing to help to book my friends cabin.

CR ---- pls do some training for your staff!!!

These are the idiots they just hired. There are several ladies they hired that sound either Jamaican or Haitian or some other island. With names like Shantay, Shanequa, Ashanti, etc etc. they don’t know Crap!! Sorry. I now hang up on them if I hear one of them answer the phone. I keep calling back til I hear a familiar voice. I think I’m done with Club Royale. Can’t use any certificates that expired. The benefits are WORTHLESS if a cruise is > 12 months. I think if I stop booking through then and stop gambling they will send me better offers, like my dad gets who hasn’t cruised since March 2017. He gets 10x more offers than me. I’ve cruised over 40x since his last cruise too!

 

As soon as I clear out my cruises and free up some time , I’m calling UR Comped and MES who have offered me comps.

Lucky you. I had to pay $184 to upgrade to a BW Balcony. Yuck. But at least it’s Symphony.

 

We are looking to book April 7 for our free P cruise. Canceling 9 night Navigator that was costing $2,800 for a JS. decided free balcony is better lol.

Here a thought...... I have noticed considerably longer hold times over the last year as have many of us. I agree with Nick that the new hires are not as familiar with CR and not as likely to work with us. I also have noticed that I tend to get the representatives with an accent more if I have a longer wait time. Shorter hold times I generally get a representative without an accent. It may be possible that after a certain time on hold the call is transferred out to another call center?

About 3 months ago. I got a cust svc rep in Guatemala City. It was a Saturday afternoon call. He spoke good English. I just thought he had a slight accent. So I said something in Spanish. RCCL is sure diversified !

Seems like the longer hold times are 8-8:30 am eastern US time. That’s also when I get more of the rookies.

 

Yesterday I wanted to cancel a cruise and get my $250 deposit back. They were trying their hardest to not let me get that refund. They wanted to find another cruise to move the money too. They were going to give me about $400 off as an offer even though I have no certificates available. I couldn’t decide and finally just canceled. Today I decided and tried to get the same deal. NOPE! Only a small percentage off as a Casino rate. Bummer. I should have locked down the offer yesterday.

That's the way you have to work with Royal in general. If you get an answer that's wrong call back till they get it right.

We had the same problem. Had the tier but not on their "list" The person I talked to booked the cruise for us then checked it out with "the powers that be". We got a call the next morning everything was a go.

 

I called on June 10/18, booked an 8 night cruise the follows the rules for the annual tier cruise, I have spoken to 5 different people and the answer is still the same, "it's pending verification". The other question is "have you received an email for your cruise?" Problem with this, is that we are Canadian and Canadians don't receive email offers from the casino, unless there is a US address on file, this just muddies the water even further!

We are Canadian too. We were told the same thing - they would apply the certificate pending verification. After a week I did not get a response and the reservation still showed I owed the full balance, so I emailed them requesting an update and they said they were able to verify it and sent me an updated reservation showing the certificate applied.

 

I don't get emails either - I keep telling them we do not get emails and have been repeatedly told they do not know why. I wish I had a dummy address I could use if it was just a matter of having a US mailing address...

I had the same issue but after calling them EVERY DAY, for almost a week they finally fixed it. However, DONT call in the morning. Wait til after 3pm. In the morning I ALWAYS get these new people. If you get a lady with a Caribbean accent! Hang up on them!! They know NOTHING!

Ok, thanks, I'll call back :( I told them I can't believe how long this whole process is taking, unbelievable! My second last call was a lady in Jamaica, who had to out me on hold for each question I had, and I did ask her where she was located. The last call was a call center in Oregon, and he had to put me on hold also when I was asking questions.

I told them both that this needs to be sorted out or maybe they just are not interested in my money and me and my money will move along to NCL. I told them I gamble as much with NCL as I do with them.

Too bad you aren't on the 3/16/19 Navigator. I'm on that one.

I'm with you! It's disheartening to feel as though your business is not welcome after spending thousands of dollars on a cruise and in their casino. I keep receiving emails that a "review is pending". I was told this 8 months ago when I attempted to book a comp cruise from the certificate received on board, wrong certificate was sent from ship (Anthem) to Operations. I was ultimately able to book that cruise, but apparently records were never corrected. I submitted a picture that I took of a slot machine showing points earned on the cruise which would have put me in Prime...not good enough since it only showed my first name and no ship info. They're acting as though we're talking about a Royal Family Suite, not an interior cabin. None of it makes any sense to me; but I completely agree with you.

Yes. Same thing for me. On hold for every single question. For several minutes. Ridiculous. That’s why I avoid calling in the mornings and I just hang up if a lady with a Jamaican accent answers. And there are a few of them.

I just want to share my very pleasant experience with Club Royale yesterday. I am signature and my husband is prime. I used my tier reward for a February cruise with my daughter and grandchildren. I still had my husbands inside reward. I called and inquired about a 6 night Adventure of the Seas sailing in March. I wanted to find out the cost of upgrading to at least a junior suite. The agent was very nice and said, yes we could upgrade, but let her play with the numbers based on our last cruise this April. She put me on hold for a few minutes. She came back and said it would be better to forgo his reward because based on our play we could have a comped junior suite on this sailing and just pay port charges and taxes of $115.40 each. I said great let's do it. Then she said do you want me to see what it would cost to upgrade to Grand suite. I said sure, but didn't think I would spend the money on this ship. She put me on hold and when she came back she said the upgrade would be $200.00 each for the Grand suite. I immediately took it. Maybe they are starting to listen to all of our complaints!!!

I am so confused (and sounds like many of you are as well). Just returned from a 10 day Anthem cruise and received a certificate for $1,000 off future cruise (balcony) and learned that I am Prime. I booked next year's cruise while onboard and was told I could switch it to Casino Royale and get the CR rates (as I have also done in the past, upon my return home. I called this afternoon and after a lengthy wait, finally got someone. This rep told me he could apply my cruise certificate to the res. I already had. I then asked about getting the casino rate first and then applying the $1,000. He told me that I can't have the casino rate AND the $1,000 off for my certificate - either one, not both. I have not heard this before. BTW, prior to sailing this last week I called CR and asked about my tier level, I was told I was sent an email. I never got one and asked what my tier level meant (Prime). The rep told me to "google it". Seriously??? Bottom line is this: were any of you able to get the casino rate AND apply your certificates you received on board from your play? Feeling pretty disgusted with Royal and CR right now. To make it worse, booked a NON-REFUNDABLE deposit GLS ....GRRRR..... Thanks for any info, Swiss

I've also been told you can't use a casino certificate with a casino rate. It was one or the other. With a $1000 off certificate, don't you also have the choice to book one of the cruises listed on the certificate in a balcony for free? (just taxes)

 

You also won't lose the OBC that you received for booking on board when you apply the certificate. If it was repriced with the casino rate, you would lose the OBC.

 

Also with Prime, you are also entitled to book another cruise in an inside cabin for up to 8 nights to sail before 3/31/19.

Call back and talk to someone else at CR. Keep calling until you get someone who sounds like they know what they are talking about. If you are prime, you are also eligible for a comp'd cruise (inside cabin) before March 31, 2019. As for the certificate, make sure you book within 30 days of the issue date or you will lose it.

That's the problem - I asked if I could have the casino rate and forego the $1,000 certificate (actually, I have two - one is mine for $1,000 and one form my husband, who only plays for short periods at table games). He told that was the casino rate - the same price that I booked at on the ship (which was way higher than it used to be. Something weird is happening with CR and I don't care for it - feeling very disrespected and un-appreciated. All that rep wanted to do was get me off the phone ASAP. Swiss (P.S. He also never mentioned a free cruise for my tier level)
