Deck 3 Reveal? Dining venues.....

I was just checking available staterooms on the Edge Transatlantic in April 2019 and I found that the deck three plan when in the booking engine shows a different deck three plan than what is available when looking at the deck plans for Edge from the "Award Winning Fleet" link on the X website. From the ships link - these areas are still showing "grey".

Port side after stateroom 3199 it's showing "Normandy Restaurant"

Starboard side after stateroom 3202 it's showing "Tuscan Restaurant" Between 3202 and the restaurant there is the ladies' room, then a men's room.

Neither restaurant goes all the way aft, so I will assume that area is the galley?

Also shows "Grand Plaza Café" mid ship on the port side between staterooms 3149 and 3171 at the location of the lobby I would assume.

Also shows a bank of elevators across from stateroom 3184.

I tried looking at other categories to see if any other reveals are there, but deck three is really the only deck with both staterooms and public rooms....

I will see if I can do a screen capture and upload.

I have said all along that the EDGE class is a Celebrity version of the Quantum class from RCCL, and have expected the deck 3/4/5 layout to share a lot of design DNA with those vessels. I think what we are seeing here is the EDGE having 4 separate MDR venues, much as the Quantum class have. Whether each venue will have a unique menu like RCCL tried and then abandoned with the Quantum class remains to be seen. It could merely be each room having a design theme connected to specialty restaraunts from the lines history but have a common menu/rotation - time will tell!

Looking at the deck three plan for Quantum and the one I found for Edge, they are very very similar. The Two70 concept also looks an awful lot like Eden.... We shall see.

Good pick up Joe! Very interesting. Tuscan and Normandie seem larger than usual so maybe not the usual specialties?

Maybe there will be Grand Plaza instead of Grand Foyer. Hope the Grand Foyer Café is a Bidtro on 5 type place (not necessarily same menu). Will be fun to see this develop.

Staterooms seem near dining,.,

Hope Cafe Baccio will be there someplace,,

Not sure where they will place BLU..but is still the venue for AQ class

It appears they've already updated all of the deck plans online that they use on the booking pages - here is deck 4,5, and 14. you can just change the deck number and see the respective image. Still have some areas grayed out -

Looks like we'll get more than just the restaurants (which there are 12+) but also get the casino and a new venue called "The Club"

Like Atlantacruiser72 speculated, looks like 4 MDR's (Normandie, Tuscan, Cosmopolitan and Cyprus) and some other specialties (Eden, Fine Cut Steakhouse, Raw on 5 and maybe some more) so it will be interesting to hear about how they plan to manage seating at those included in regular fare, and what will be the added fee locations. I'm on the first 3 night preview and was planning to try 3 specialties and skip the MDR, but now I'm not sure with those 4 different locations being revealed.

It does appear that like Quantum Class there will be 4 separate Main Dining room venues, each with its own unique decor and layout.

Now, the $25,000 question is will all 4 have the same menus each evening with those on traditional dining being assigned a fixed table in one of the 4 for the entire cruise, or will Celebrity try the (failed) concept that parent company Royal did with "Dynamic Dining" with each venue having its own unique menu and those on traditional dining rotating through the 4 venues with same staff and table mates. Celebrity Select diners, most likely, could choose which of the 4 they wished to dine in each evening regardless of which way they go with the menus.

It will be interesting to see which direction they take. I personally would love to see them go the route of a different menu rotation for each venue with an always available choice of "Celebrity Classics" shared by all menu rotations. Would certainly allow a much broader MDR experience!

If I'm reading the deck plan correctly it would appear the the Fine Cuts Steakhouse, BLU and Eden cafe may all feature outdoor seating areas for dining alfresco! Raw on 5 also appears as if the Magic Carpet could be used as an outdoor seating area for that venue.

Also, could Le Grand Bistro be a return to a Bistro on 5 type casual cafe concept, or will it be a more French menu in a less formal setting than Murano? Then there is the Grand Plaza Cafe on deck 3 to consider .....

It certainly appears that Celebrity are totally reimagining their dining program. Looking forward to the 28th for more details

Will be interesting to see if Blu has outdoor seating - doesn’t look connected in rendering so hard to tell. Not sure about views from Blu with the lifeboats there. Up until now Blu has had nice views.

They announced a long time ago that when on 5, the MC would be a seafood place - like the idea of seating on and off the MC.

Looks like a lot of choices- I too will be overwhelmed on my preview cruises to try it all - such a difficult life [emoji6]. I guess I will have to wait until my January cruise to complete my “research.”

So at last we got to know why Celebrity has been so slow on showing us this ship...there is nothing new. There aren't anything new to copy as they said...all we see are copies from their own ships or others.

Good try with the infinitive verandas, but this ship is no maritime revolution like the Oasis was at her time.

At least she has an interior decor that is a leap forward.

So only exciting thing is the MC which IS a TRUE innovation.

Dynamic Dining was an interesting concept and many people enjoyed the variation in dining room and menus. However it seems the execution by the staff was a bit off which was one complaint. But the major whining took place by traditionalist cruisers who just could not really get used to the change. That eventually overturned it.

Having four main dining venues, regardless of decor or menu differences, should at least allow a calmer dining experience. Many reviewers have said the noise and bustle in the MDR drove them to try Aqua or Suite classes specifically for the smaller dining venues. I hope X staff are able to make this dining concept work, and I hope MDR passengers board with open minds.

If that is what they are going for, it would be great to dine in smaller venues. With the mistakes from the past they will likely format it differently than RCI. Hope it works (if that is the plan).

It certainly looks that way. The deck plans for decks 3 & 4 show what looks like a solid wall between the two venues. I also wonder if two of the four will be dedicated to set dining, and two to select dining. I guess we’ll find out:).

Looks intetesting to me...some new ideas that look appealing along with old favorites like Cafe Baccio and BLU. BLU might not have the same views as before but very happy to see the space! Hope there is elev access nearby
