Livorno to Pisa

We are going to take the train from Livorno to Pisa which is only about 20 minutes, but I wonder if anyone can remind me how to get to the train station in Livorno. We have done this before a few years ago to Lucca, but I must have lost my info. Do I really need a taxi from the port gate to the station?

Hi Jean

Tom's Port Guides cover Livorno. I always find them invaluable for getting info for DIYing. His guide was written in 2013, I dont know if it will be current though, he gives details of buses to the railway station.

We did this several years ago and caught the local bus to the train station. Haven't got a clue what number it was, but there were a lot of people doing the same thing. Seem to remember we had to buy the bus tickets in a little newsagents shop.
