Water Temperature at Manly Beach End of October?

We are planning on spending a day in Manly at the end of October.

Had two questions about Manly Beach.

One was a question about the water temperature. Being the end of Australia's winter, I was thinking the water might be a bit chilly for swimming so thought I'd ask here.

The other question was about bathhouses or changing rooms. Are there any on Manly Beach? Or perhaps public toilets that could be used for changing?

Thanks!

Yep there’ll be somewhere to change.

Good to know about the changing rooms but

66 F. YIKES! That's cold

Maybe I'll just put my feet in the water :D

Scaredycat! That's what we call people frightened of a little cold water. You'll find the temps in October invigorating, refreshing and absolutely worthwhile. Go for it Diane. You only live once.

Now you've got me thinking about it. :D

I had the opportunity to go swimming in Antarctica. I decided I'd just wade around up to my calves. Pulled off my boots and wool socks, rolled up my pants, and went in.

I admit that to this day I regret not coming ashore in my bathing suit and diving in.

I understand your regret. Those who decided to brave the cold Antarctica ocean looked exhilarated from the unique experience, which will stay with them for the rest of their life.

So brave our chilly ocean waters by just diving under and enjoy the experience.

I think 20°C is more like 68°F. Sydney is at sub-tropical latitudes and the maximum sea temps will only be around 23-24°C or say 73-75°F.

Anything above 20°C is considered warm enough for swimming in this area.

In saying that there ate plenty of locals who swim year-round.

Cheers

The photo of me getting out of the water is about the most unattractive photo ever of me on a cruise, but my most prized. :D
