Sky Owner's Suite Jacuzzi not working!!!

I'm with the OP...I'd personally be more than a little disappointed if I booked a suite with a Jacuzzi and it wasn't working. I don't know that any amount of OBC would sufficiently compensate. Unless it was enough to book another cruise in a cabin with an operating Jacuzzi).

Thank you to everyone who gave their feedback whether positive or negative.

Rest assured, We will still have a great time despite this setback. We just really wanted to make this cruise, although short, a very special one for my dear MIL.

This is a bummer but there are too many positives for this situation. First thing is how incredible it was for NCL to tell you this so far advance and offer $300 OBC. OMG you could eat at Cagney's EVERY night for that amount. I was in a penthouse suite and the Jacuzzi tub was broken. I was bummed but no big deal since I don't really take baths but wanted to check it out. Its basically a bath tub with jets so not the end of the world but I did not complain and NCL did not offer anything. The huge balcony on the owners suite is incredible. You can sit out there at night at stare at the stars. Realize that so many book the owners suite on deck 9 only to find out it only seats 1. Now that is a bummer! Now you could do something clever. Maybe the jets are just broken and it still fills with water? If so, you still could enjoy a splash tub of some sorts. The BIGGEST rule for cruising is NEVER walk on the ship with a negative attitude otherwise the entire cruise is a downer. Take the $300 and laugh your way to all the specialty restaurants. Order them to your GIANT suite and enjoy every moment with your mother in law. Please come back and give us a full review.

I priced out an Owners Suite vs an aft penthouse suite and it was about $1,000 more for the OS. A lot of the difference is because the OS is a lot larger but some must be because of the Jacuzzi. If you value the Jacuzzi at more that $300 why don't you go back to NCL and is if they will go for $400 or $500 or $600. Hey start out at a grand and 'settle' for whatever. Can't hurt.

I did go back and called and asked nicely if they can up the OBC, but was told 300 was the highest they can go.

Did you get to talk to a manager? If not try going back one more time. Ask to speak to a manager and see if they can increase the OBC.

I am sooooo mad and disappointed! I just got a call from Norwegian telling me that our Jacuzzi in Suite 8201 sailing this Friday 11/24 will not be functional. They offfered us $300 credit.

I told them I am not happy and that this cruise was a surprise for my Mother-in-law and now it is ruined! We originally booked 9201 but moved to 8201 for the bigger jacuzzi when it became available. The agent said 9201's jacuzzi is also not functional.

I AM PISSED!

I'd be super upset as well. I wonder why they can't get it fixed before your cruise ?

We have not had a Jacuzzi on a cruise ship but we did have one on our terrace at a beach resort last Christmas. It was fantastic!! We relaxed in it every night, had a couple of drinks and watched the stars and the ocean and the cruise ships leaving port!

The only downside was my DW was so impressed that this past February we ended up buying a Jacuzzi hot tube for our house. Of course we needed a new deck to go with the new Jacuzzi. So that fantastic Jacuzzi on the beach ended up costing us about 20 grand!

What is the sense - $MONEY$ ain't gonna fix the problem - Maintenance will - If it is broke fix it !

If it can't be fixed then back to square one with $OBC$. This endless loop will go nowhere !

Maybe NCL should reduce the rate on a Jacuzzi cabin to one without a Jacuzzi - would that be fair ?

It clearly is an issue that can't be fixed easily. Its been broken for at least a month.

We were in 8001 Nov 6-10, and our wonderful steward kept asking us if our hot tub was working. He seemed to think it hadn't been with the previous occupants. It was a bit sporadic with the jets (they'd often stop, but revived 15 minutes later). 8201 seemed to be out of order the entire week, and I heard the concierge apologizing to the occupants. When we left the ship on the 10th, there were lots of workers, equipment and hoses in the hall in front of 8201. I do understand how upsetting it is for you. We loved the tub and used it often. Although it might be difficult (and a little dangerous) for your MIL entering and exiting the tub (you said she had some mobility issues). And the price is in line for that suite. I tried to book the Havana 4 day in June, and for 4 of us it was going to be $8500. Ouch!

1 - An advertisement is not a contract. Your contract is the thing you agreed to when you checked in online. It can be found here: https://www.ncl.com/sites/default/files/Guest-Ticket-Contract-11-2015.pdf

2 - If you read the above contract, it will state in several places that what is on the website may change and you have no recourse. Hell, it even says they provide no warranties as to the seaworthiness of the ship!!! (yep, it's in there!)

3 - You gave up your right to sue in the contract. You can file for arbitration in Miami-Dade County.

Enjoy your cruise.

What? Didn't you learn anything from Carlill v Carbolic Smoke Ball Co in law school?

Wasn't this because they offered money back if the cure didn't work in their advertisement? Don't ever remember NCL advertising money back if something didn't work. Edited by NLH Arizona

All the Cagney’s in the world wouldn’t make up for lack of a Jacuzzi on a cruise for me. One of my dreams in life is to book a suite with the Jacuzzi on the balcony. I really don’t even think there’s anything short of that at least 50% refund that would make it up to me personally.
