Harmony of the Seas - football game on embarkation day

Hello everyone,

I am leaving on Harmony of the Seas on 11/25 which is the same day as the Ohio St. vs. Michigan game, at 12pm. I want to get on the boat and beeline to a bar that has the games on. I know they may not be playing the game but I called RC just to get a location of bars that are typically open on boarding day and they just said to search around the bars. I haven't been on the Oasis class before and it's a huge ship, so walking around randomly isn't going to work.

Anyone know any of the bars that are typically open on boarding day? Thanks!

We watched college football games on Oasis class ships in the On-Air bar. Last year, we were able to watch games that weekend but only if they were airing on ABC. I know there were Alabama fans who couldn't see their game that was airing on CBS - they had to huddle around their computer screens to watch.

this is good news...a big disappointment during our NCL cruise last month on Escape is that all the bars only played one channel, and it was something like ESPN international--mostly it was soccer games...the only exception was on Sunday when they played a few NFL games, and they made a big deal about them--but no college games on Saturday : (

Well, I went on my cruise and had a blast. Figured I'd follow up with my experience. If you are looking to watch college football, plan on booking your cruise outside of football season. We boarded at 12:10pm and went immediately to the On Air bar. Cool spot, but they only had the Georgia Tech game on (who gives a flying sausage about GT right now?). That was it. They really do only have ESPN International 1 and 2. The worst part was, when we finally got in the room they were playing the Wisconsin game. I tried to find someone on the boat who was knowledgeable about their channels but it was futile. Just don't plan a cruise if you want to watch any big games.

Now, in the casino they had a lot of NFL games on all week so you may be in luck there. But for college football, RC (or any other cruise line) will definitely not get me to reserve a room during college football season.

Thanks for the follow up. Another option is streaming on your iPhone or iPad. I was able to stream Saturday College games on my iPhone ESPN app during our September Cruise on Empress. Of course it wasn’t as fun as watch it in a bar not the TVs but I still got to see the game. YMMV depending on internet on the ship

Cheers

Tom

On our B2b on Navigator a couple weeks ago, they had an early, midday, and evening NFL game showing on Sunday. While you won't be able to request a specific game, I wouldn't be shocked if they carried that game. I managed to see the UCF-Memphis college game (great game!) as well as the Wisconsin game. I had my iPad so was able to stream another game I wanted to watch while sitting in the pub as well. Although, as much as I love college fb, I wouldn't let a lack of games keep me from cruising. That's why they invented DVR for when I get back home..... hope OP still enjoyed their cruise.

We're on Oasis this Sunday and the Steelers/Patriots are at 4:30pm EST. Hoping we can find somewhere to watch it, but doubt any of the bars have NFL network.

And before you judge, yeah, I know we're on a cruise. But we're big fans. Steelers, of course.

We were able to watch the Steelers game on our recent Harmony cruise. We started at the On Air bar and finished in our room on espn.

It's a big game so I'd bet that will be the game that's showing.
