NCL CAS OBC question

Recommended Posts

Okay, how's that for acroynms out the wazoo? I read in a post that the casino on NCL would give you $25 additional for using $100 in OBC in the casino. Does anyone know if this is true, and if so, how does it work? Heading out in less than a week and have $350 in OBC, would LOVE to use it in the casino if they give perks for using it there instead of in the spa! (None of the cruise is through CAS. However, I have a CAS cruise booked for Jan.--don't know if that is pertinent or not!) Craps table, here I come!:D

I believe they did away with that and as an FYI that promo was only the obc you receive when purchasing cruisenext/future cruise credit certificates.

OBC received from NCL/CAS is the non refundable version so it cannot be converted over to cash. If you booked through a travel agent and they purchase you extra OBC (not NCL's regular OBC promos) that can be converted over. It would show on your confirmation as "Refundable"

Can anyone tell me about the casino rewards program for Norwegian Cruise Lines? I spent (at least) $12K out of pocket on slots in the casino on the Norwegian Dawn on our cruise in July 2017 and haven’t heard anything from them regarding rewards. (not sure what my husband gambled).

I would think they would want us back on a cruise. Is there a separate “club” or department you contact with NCL like the “Blue Chip” club on Celebrity? We just sailed on the Celebrity Equinox and didn’t spend as much in their casino and left the ship with a free cruise for a Sky Suite.

We didn’t care much for the Norwegian Dawn specifically, but I’ve been curious as to why my husband and I haven’t heard from NCL re: a cruise offer.

I appreciate any info on this.

Thanks,

JayDee

Did you join Casinos at Sea, while on board? Were you given a Drinks are on Us Card. Did you interact with a Casino Host? You May get a postcard offering you a comped cruise in the mail. The most effective way to find out if you will receive an offer for a comped cruise is to call Casinos at Sea and ask. The offer will vary depending on your play. If as you say, you spent $12000 on slots that would equate to a minimum of 2400 points and with your husbands play you would at least be offered an inside. Best to verify that your play was tracked. If there is a ship or itinerary that you fancy ask about it specifically when on the phone.

Hopefully you were both playing with a players card or room card they could track. I would suggest you call Casinos At Sea and tell them you were on the Dawn and that sailing date. (See contact info below.) It can help if you have your Latitudes number, or they can look it up.

Ask what they could do for you on a future cruise. Have a ship and date in mind and ask what they can offer you for that cruise. I would think they would offer you a cruise comp, or at least a discount off a cruise if they are able to look up your play. Depending on your play they will say something like we can offer you an Inside cabin, or OceanView, etc.

You don't have to book during that conversation but it will at least give you an idea. Most of the CAS agents are extremely friendly and are great about answering questions. (If you get someone less than helpful, you can call back another day and try another agent.)

Here is there contact info from NCL.com
