Oceania Transfer Question

We have booked a transfer with Oceania from Nice to Monte Carlo.

Will we have to wait around until they fill a huge bus (like Princess) or will we have a private transfer (like our experience with Viking River)?

If our plane flights are delayed--will they wait for us?

We are Oceania fans but never use their transfers. I would research private hire services or call Uber. Almost anything beats the price of Oceania transfers.

Private hire drivers will be monitoring and waiting for your flight.

You would think for the price they charge for the transfers it would be a private limo, but no, I believe it's just a bus, with the others that bought their transfer.

FWIW, we have never had an Oceania transfer on an Embarkation/Disembarkation day that wasn't in a bus, nor have we ever had an Oceania Transfer on a non cruise day that wasn't in a private car.

Thanks for the info. Friends that are flying in earlier have a private transfer--but it isn't that much cheaper.

BUT--if we miss our currently booked flight from Paris to Nice and make it on the flight 3 hours later--they will still have a transfer for us?

I've had great on-time and reasonably priced service in Europe with Blacklane. They use luxurious Mercedes. We'll be using them again for transportation to and from the port into Rome.

In London, we took a private transfer with International Friends. On the way down we stopped at Stonehenge, and on the way back went straight to the airport. Both times the two of us went for the same price one of us would have gone with Oceania transfer.

We did that too but in reverse as we did London after our cruise.

I've used them too and had good tours. They used small buses that were easy to get on/off. We visited Salisbury, Stonehenge and Windsor on the way back to our airport hotel.

To the OP;

You or your TA gives Oceania your flight information. If you pay for a transfer, a representative will meet you at the airport. The term “ wait “ has little meaning in that those representatives are meeting and assisting multiple cruisers coming in through out the day.

If you miss a flight, you need to text or email Oceania or your TA immediately with any new flight information. If they have the information they will be there.

We have used a private car thru Viator for about $100, which I think is considerably less expensive and much nicer.
