Independence disembarkation adventure

Recommended Posts

Well we finally experienced the infamous poor disembarkation on Independence last Saturday. We weren't in a hurry, flights home not until afternoon. We were entertained watching a line to get off that snaked from outdoors on deck 4, through the casino then back to the exit doors. It went on like that from 8:30 when we came down and found some chairs until 10:00 when it was finally down to one line, not a snake that wound around 3 times.

Once off the ship they were making people sit in a holding area, and then releasing in groups to go down an escalator. The escalator emptied into a small area that was full of people, there was almost literally no where for the people on the escalator to get off of it. Potential disaster in the works.

We've been on 20 cruises and it's the worst disembarkation we've seen.....

We experienced the same thing getting off the Independence in February . I have read many threads and never read about this. Got in line at 830 and it was almost 11 when we got to the airport. At the airport the baggage system was down and hundreds of people were standing in a line that stretched out the door and way down the sidewalk. I will wake up earlier and get a later flight next time! Afraid that the Harmony will be even worse.

I don’t think you will have any issues getting off Harmony.
