Koningsdam before Xmas .quick Recap

Our 10 day cruise to Southern Caribbean was a big hit .We loved the A b C islands in spite of rain in Curacao .We tried to snorkel in Aruba but were dropped off at Arachi ..tolda storm really stirred up rocks .i had trouble getting in and out ..but my son enjoyed the swim

Curacao started under rain ...which did stop ...wonderful 14 hours here ....came back for lunch, to lighten load and went back out .Had drinks in bar overlooking the sea ...lovely with friends and Simba ....

Bonaire was snorkeling on no name beach and later sitting in water at sorbon beach ...wonderful relaxing day

Nothing beats snorkeling in Bonaire saw gorgeous fish multicoloured and fabulous coral ..I love Bonaire

Next was Amber Cove ..IMO .waste

Half day in Turks should have been full day ..lovely ...nice beach ..love the energy at Margaritaville

Half moon cay was s always gorgeous ..beautiful cool sand ...turquoise water ..now what could be better

The ship tself was lovely ..food excellent .Was very happy to bump into Julian F&B new manager whom I knew from Ncl Escape and Epic ...he took care of me .thank ou Julian ..wishing you continued success with Holland

Ship was bright beautiful full of lovely decorations for Xmas and Chanukah

Our candle lighting was attended by a very large group .Latkes was served with wine .....lovely ..every night for 8 nights

In Curacao the Prime Minister attended as well as other dignitaries the 3rd candle lighting ..music, latkes sufganiot ., dreidels ...all lovely .Thank you Curacao Chabad ...synagogue was beautiful as well ..from 1750 ...absolutely gorgeous

The ship food was deeelicious except for soups which were way too salty IMO .the Pinnacle and Tamarind were a big hit ..very good

The buffet was varied, service excellent ..no self service much less waste .I loved the back of the ship with seaview pool ..my favorite spot

Met nice people from Cruise Critic at our Meet and Greet but officers did not show up ...apparently in the past bombarded with negativity and hostility from Members of CC so they no longer show up ..a real pity ...

Thanks to Queenie for slot pull ...great fun even if we did not win

All in all lovely cruise ..would do it again in a heartbeat .Koningsdam is a great ship ..even if its casino was not nice to me ..boohoo ...donated loads got no returns ..boohoo

Love Southern Caribbean ..loved staying late ...wonderful

Great review! Thanks for sharing. I will be doing this exact itinerary on the K in March with my parents and our young children. Can I ask if you found the aft pool area smokey? Did you see kids there? HA told me that kids are allowed in the Seaview pool with adults supervising. This pool looks beautiful with its aft view and wide open to the sunshine - thus appealing to us. Thanks.
