Whales in late May?

Hi all!

We are sailing May 26. My understanding was that whale watching season ends in mid-April and that there are few—if any— whales to be seen after. Yet the whale watching excursions on our cruise are all marked “sold out”. Is this just Carnival’s way of saying “not available” or are there actually whales in late May/early June?

I suspect that Carnival is selling you a "whale of a story" rather than real whale watching. At that time of the year you will likely have to settle for seeing some Dolphins. Perhaps you should ask Carnival will they refund your excursion money.....if you have no sightings :).
