Nieuw Statendam Lounge Swap compared to Koningsdam.

Maybe this has been posted before, but I just saw a change on the Nieuw Statendam's deckplan compared to the Koningsdam...

Where Koningsdam currently has the 2 story Queens Lounge, featuring the BB Kings Blues Club , this venue will become the Lincoln Centre Stage.

Where on Koningsdam is the Explorers Lounge and Lincoln Centre Stage, this venue will be the BB Kings Blues club.

Most probably to tackle the noise issues from BB King on Koningsdam

Haven't seen the deck plans for the Nieuw Statendam. I don't suppose they've done any thing different about the Promenade Deck?

Judging the Deck Plan, which is on the HAL website, it does not appear to have any changes, which was not to be expected.

Yes, I have noticed the change also. HAL could have been done this intentionally. When I sailed on the Koningsdam, Lincoln Center Stage venue seemed crowded all the time. Queens lounge may be more appropriate. However, there was always a crowd in the Queens Lounge for BB Kings Blues club. I hope they are not swapping one crowded venue for another. Might be a good idea to let performers switch venues every few nights. Now, there is an idea!

that' interesting. normally the bb kings and piano bar run at similar times. I wonder how they are going to schedule that with the venue swap.....i think they needed to re-design the ocean bar space. the piano player was there from 5-8 (with a pretty limited crowd) and it was almost empty every single night after she left

I was looking at the deck plan yesterday and noticed this.

It isn't the "noise" from BB Kings that's the problem on K. It's the noise from across the hall at Billboard Onboard (just people sitting there and drinking) and the casino above when the classical group is playing at Lincoln Center Stage. And people coming down the staircase/out of the elevators and walking down the hallway, carrying on their very loud conversations despite the "Quiet Please" signs all over.

But there isn't enough space in that area for a 5-piece band w/2 vocalists plus a dance floor plus seating. Unless they expect people to dance in the walkway!

There appears to be more space across the hall where Billboard Onboard is located. Move that to the starboard side, have only 1 piano bar pianist. No one dances at the piano bar.

I always thought the easiest solution was to enclose the area where the strings performed, and install a double set of doors to stop sound bleed into the venue. The B.B. King performance in the Queen's Lounge with the large dance floor was perfect. I noticed the venue swap when they first released the new ship layout. Disappointed in their solution to the sound bleed problem.

That sounds like a step in the right direction.
