Solo Cruiser Specialty Dining

Hi All,

I am escorting a large group on Independence of the Seas in March. I plan to eat with them the first night - just to make sure everything goes smoothly. Then, (since I am not actually part of the group, but am only there to make sure everything goes well) I plan to do specialty dining for the remainder of the cruise. However, I don't think I'll enjoy TOO much time sitting alone at a table. Has anyone else done specialty dining as a solo cruiser? Did you sit alone?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, I've eaten in specialty restaurants alone (not on IoS, though). I'd rather eat in the specialty restaurant alone than not eat in them.

Yes, many times. But I dine out by myself all the time, so I don't ever worry about what others are thinking of me- the answer is almost always that they aren't.

I've also connected with others on my roll call and made plans to join them for a specialty meal, both other solos and sometimes couples or small groups.

And once, I had just barely been seated at the specialty restaurant when a mother & her two daughters who I'd ended to dining with several times during anytime dining entered the restaurant. They sent the waiter over to ask if I'd like to join them, and since I had previously enjoyed their company, I did.

Go and enjoy!

I dine in Speciality restaurants alone if I'm cruising solo; no different from the MDR really except that you get a table to yourself which is a refreshing change. I like talking to others on MDR tables but I also enjoy being alone at dinner sometimes.

Hi, yes, I have also eaten in Specialty Restaurants on my own......treated very well:)..........and also, it is very easy

(for me anyway) to meet other people on a cruise.....you never know if you may meet someone who can join you as well.

The roll call suggestion is a very good one.......see if anyone on there may like to dine together.

Hope you have a great cruise:)
