Galveston

we have cruise out of Galveston about 5 times. In Dec , after walking thru the scanners during check in, the agents were sending everyone with wine over to another table for another person to check. Never had this happen before - just wondering if that is new policy. There was quite the back up at that table. Leaving out next week and wondering if was isolated or something new

I think that has less to do with Galveston but rather is the cruise line checking the wine in. I suppose they make sure it’s not a wine bottle full of vodka or something. I know when you disembark with alcohol the draconian tax laws in Texas require you to pay tax on what you thought you were saving money on but getting on in Galveston I think is just the cruise line doing what they do.

This is all the time now. They are checking the seals on the wine bottles to make sure they have not been tampered with. (Filled with hard alcohol) They also check pop cans in the case to make sure they’re all pop & no beer cans etc are hidden in the case.
