Great but try and prove the tour is identical. As an example on R801, P&O are offering a tour in Punta Arenas at a cost of £140. I've found what appears to be an identical tour with a local company at a price of £75. Now getting 110% back (i.e. £71.50) would be very nice but how much hassle and what if they decide it's not identical? Easier to book the local tour.

P&O cancelled two tours on our last cruise due to low uptake and the excursions manager had the grace to tell me they wouldn’t charge us a cancellation fee!

I know that people think that the P&O tours are expensive, but we are doing a cruise with Celebrity in August 2018 which touches on some places that we visited last year on Ventura. Looking at the prices Celebrity want for what I would say are the same tours I am convinced that the P&O ones are not as bad as they could be! The price promise will be interesting as we always prefer the ship's excursions incase we get left behind!!

P&Os Rome On Your Own, which is simply a bus in and back was £51. We took a coach with SmartCruise Tours for 19 Euros return. It was excellent and we were back 2 hours before we needed to be. You could also do a short sightseeing with them for another 10 Euros with a guide.

We had an excursion cancelled the day before due to not enough passengers and as we were not given sufficient time to book another all others were full. It was just a trip to a water park and apparently there were only 7 wanting to go. We did ask if they could arrange transport to take us, but the answer was no. They did obviously refund us.

We don't mind the P&O excursions, yes they are expensive but they do seem to get good quality guides.
