Cabin upgrade

We already have a balcony cabin booked on the Marella Explorer in June, but the Missus has now seen the hammocks in the larger balcony cabins !

Upgrading to the larger cabin is far from a necessity, so with that in mind I would like to consider the most economical way to do this.

Should we call Thomson now and ask for a price, should we wait until a week or two before or should we try our luck when we board the ship.

Any advice greatly received

Getting a cabin upgrade is rarer than hens teeth, good luck

the only one I have heard of was years ago on spirit when a couple in a suite were offered a free upgrade to the owners suite. This was within a week or so to go and they were unlikely to sell the owners suite but all the other suites were booked, hence the free upgrade.

It's very unlikely you could get an upgrade once on board unless you have a problem with your cabin. We have experienced two upgrades in all our cruises and none were expected just last minute on anniversary dates and I think you have no chance if you have reserved a particular cabin😀

Very true ..............

they also normally charge the upgrade price that you would have paid at the time of booking
