Amsterdam to Basel: Ira on the Rhine.

At last, I am able to take computer in hand and transcribe my notes of a most interesting voyage.

Those of you who were with me on my Spring voyage aboard The Avalon Visionary (Paris to Budapest) may recall that KLM cancelled our flight from AMS to ATL, because our Basel à AMS flight was delayed, and that we had to schlep our way through 3 airports (sick as dogs) to get home in time for me to make an important business meeting. (2 antibiotic pills cured me).

You may also remember that I had lost my camera, and had only those pics that I had stored on my tablet.

You are now thinking, “That was the tablet that died and he lost all of his pix”.

Correct.

Guess what?

Yup, KLM cancelled our flight from AMS to ATL.

However, being a sadder-but-wiser traveler, I did not lose my camera, and I didn’t have any important plans immediately upon arriving home.

In addition to that, I religiously downloaded each day’s pix onto the tablet and backed them up to an SD card.

Thus, when my tablet refused to start up and I had to reset it, I did not lose any pix.
