Carnival freedom leaving this saturday 10/14 from galveston

I just heard that we will NOT be going to Key West!!! that it will be an additional day at sea!!!

also that Carnival will be offering 50% a future cruise or 50% off this cruise because of that.

anyone else hear anything like this????

Key West has been receiving cruise ships. I had a friend there last week. There were a few shops that were closed but most were open for business. KW wants those tourist dollars.

Also the compensation of 50% it way too high. Occasionally Carnival will compensate for missing a port but not 1/2 the cost of the cruise. This would be highly unusual.

There is nothing about the Freedom on the Carnival website. Obviously the big new is the cancelation of the Fascination cruises.

I hope you get if figured out and have a wonderful cruise.

If you are on that cruise and the itinerary has been officially changed you would have gotten an email. If it's a last minute (or day) change, they will give you a letter at the terminal in galveston. I would be surprised by that news. Have a good cruise either way, see you saturday.

How were you notified of this?

So far I don't have any notifications of this change. Seems way too generous offer for missing one Port.

I find it hard to believe they would offer such a big discount for missing one port.
