Explorer GTY assignment - Hump JS 9318

Just logged into RC and saw our JS guarantee was assigned for our 6/8 sailing to Alaska. I’ve searched the threads for the cabin and read mostly good things. Only negative Looks like it’s right outside the elevators (noise factor). Thoughts? Anyone have recent experience with this cabin on Explorer or sister ships?

We have booked cabins near the elevator many times. Very convenient and never, ever had a noise issue.

One of our favorite staterooms on Voyager class. No noise from the elevators.

Good assignment - Ditto what others wrote about noise.

On a separate note, we have friends with connecting balcony cabins on explorer. Do the dividers open to connect balconies?

Balcony dividers do not open on Explorer.

The stairs and elevators are in a FOYER...noise isn't an issue. But, you are located VERY conveniently! You'll love the location!

You certainly did! We got a suite GTY on Navigator and I was disappointed with the assignment and PAID the full JS price just to move to the cabin you have been assigned!

DW and I spent our 10th anniversary in that cabin last June! We loved it, was a great location. I booked it when the sailings opened up, so you are very lucky!! Enjoy the cruise!!
